China Glaze On Safari Part II

Here are the rest of the colors from the new China glaze line On Safari.

This one is I' not lion.  A glitter that is pretty matte.  If you want a shine you are going to need a couple of top coats to get a shine.  Still very pretty and verstile for the rest of the line.

This one is I Herd That.  It is a coppery glitter and probably my favorite color of the whole line.  This one too is a matte and needs several top coats to get a shine out of it.

This one is Adventure ready.  A nice read creme which we all probably already have in our collection.   What can I say?  Nothing special.  It should have been in the spiderman line.

This one is prey tell.  I kinda like it for fall but it definitely needs some zuzing up.  Like some gold flakes.  Maybe even a silver flake.

Elephant Walk.  Now this is something different.  Between a gray and a green.  Interesting but needs some time of glitter top.

Call of the Wild.  A deep brown.  A good color for fall a bit boring though but get creative and put something on top of it and maybe it will look ok.

Oh, boy.  this is man hunt.  I want to cry.  I just can't say anything other than it is a blue.

Overall, the line is ok.  Too many of the colors are just dull.  But I just thought I could use them for water marbling.  They might be good for stamping but I bought them and I figure something to do with them.  I give polish away lots of times.  I think I am going to do a give away for my 100th post and kinda wish I could close it just to followers but unfortunately I have to have followers.  I am also trying to get some things that would make a good giveaway.  I don't want to give away anything I would not use myself.
I am also a part of Latina Bloggers and followers sometimes make the difference on whether or not I get a promotional campaign.  I did one and really enjoyed doing it so I am going to have to open the giveaway.  I will let you know more I am lingering at about 90 posts.

Ciao for now,
Patty

China Glaze On Safari Part 1

Here are some swatches of the new collection from China Glaze called On Safari

This is jungle queen a purplish grey.

This one is Kalahari Kiss.  I really like this one is is very neutral and looks like a beige with a little yellow in it.

This one is purr-fect plum a nice plum with some red in it.

This one is desert sun another one of my favorites.  A very light orange with some brownish tones in it.

This is exotic encounters.  I like the color and can see a lot of stamping being done on these nails.

Well, that is part 1 of the series.  I will post the second part tomorrow.  I bought these on Ebay for $30.00.  That roughly comes out to $2.50 a bottle.  You can't beat that price anywhere, that is why I bought the whole collection.  You can find good deals on Ebay just gotta be patient know what you want and search daily.

ciao for now bellas,
Patty

Zoya Swatches

I love Zoya nail polish.  They have such pretty colors, I just hate that they are so damn hard to find.  They sell them at Ulta but they are always three promotions behind, like my Ulta just got the surf and beach line and I have noticed that other blogs are already are showing the fall line of Zoya.  So, today, I just wanted to share some of my favorite Zoya colors.  The first is Carrieanne.  I love that it is not a really deep red and like the shimmer, making it a perfect casual red.

shivon 1

Then next one is Crystal, a beautiful sky blue.  Pictures do not do it justice.

This one is another blagger.  I wanted it for so long and finally  broke down and bought it.  It is called Veruschka.  Most people who like Zoya have this color and for any Zoya love it is a must.

DSCF1776

The fourth one is  a neutral with a shimmer.  I just like it.  It is called Felicity.

DSCF1761

The last one is a beautiful purple called Julieanne.  It is more for fall but fall is right around the corner.

DSCF1755

So, that is just a little roundup of some of my favorite Zoya’s.  You notice that they are all called after girls.  There is a Goldie, it is a really pretty gold.  Not one named after me yet.  Do you by any chance have a Zoya with your namesake and if you do share it with us and let us know if you own it?

Goldie on Vacation

At some point this summer, I have to go to the beach.  I wish I could go to a really nice one but there is a little beach about an hour and a half out of Houston called Surfside.  Not at all what I am used to but it is ok.  Of course we can't go to the beach without Goldie, so she comes with us.  Last year, when we went to Vegas and California, she had to stay home and she was MAD for about two days.  She is so funny when she gets mad because she raises her tail higher than usually and walks around the apartment pretending that my husband or I are not here.  So, she is going to the beach and I found the cutest little bathing suit at Etsy I thought I was ordering the hat that went with it but I didn't.  I notified the owner and I am awaiting her response as to whether or not I can go ahead and buy the hat.  She is really going to love that.  She did not take her nap today because we were busy and she was tired when I took these pictures but she looks really cute and I have to share it with you.  Just the bathing suit is worth looking at if you have a small dog.  So here is Goldie ready to go on vacation.
She is shy in the first picture but by the second she is ok.

So, she is ready to go.  Right after this photo shoot she put her pajamas on and went to sleep.
Something that I should do now too.

Ciao for now bellas,
Patty

I know it might not look like a lot but for ten dollars is is a steal since the stila bronzer is around $30.00 on it’s own.  I used it this weekend and loved the texture and it did not dry out my skin.  I will definitely use it.  The other items are a small atomizer that smells of rose use it wherever you want.  Then there is the lip gloss, which I got as a gift also from Sephora.  It is nice and moist and has average lasting wearing time.  The Taylor Swift sample is ok but not for me.  I’ll give it away to one of my nieces.  Finally just a plastic bag you can use for what ever.  Really great for traveling.  So,all in all for $10.00 I give it two thumbs up.  and we will see what happens see what surprises await for the July Birch box.
Well, Ciao, bellas,
Patty

Teal Tuesday Jelly Sandwich

Good Morning,
Today I have another jelly sandwich.  I am not 100% happy with the one I did last week but the colors had to go with the story which I really hope you enjoyed.  So, this jelly sandwich is more my style.  I used the new American Apparrel sheer neon in Pacific Blue and the jelly is KB Shimmer's fantastic, Clown Puke.

A closeup of Clown Puke
I think it is wild

Blue Monday

I hope everyone had a good weekend.  I know I did my sutures were finally taken off and I don’t feel so much pain.  They had been on a little too long and were starting to get infected and the good thing is that they did not mess with my belly piercing so I still have that.  I got that done when I turned forty just to say I had done something.  I don’t get tattoos as it is forbidden by my religion and if I don’t get cremated, I do wish to be buried in a Jewish cemetary.
once again the weather in Houston is horrible.  It is raining but you never know here in Houston, it has the weirdest weather.  The morning could be plagued by thunderstorms and flooding then by 2:00pm. The sun is out and it is hot.
Today I am showing you an beautiful Orly nail polish
it is called Lunar eclipse and it is part of the FX line and is just gorgeous.  If the sun catches it a certain way it  looks purple.  The good thing is that you can still buy it in stores, but for me I do all my shopping on the Internet.  I just have to be in the mood to shop outside my computer.
so, on this one I started with lunar eclipse and was going to use my new bundle monster plates to .  I was going to use plate bm301 but which sorta looks like snow falling but it did not work out so I randomly covered the the nail and had plate bm323 out and saw an image that was kinda lacy so, I stamped that diagonally using Konad black across the nail.  Then I put a top coat of essence special effects.  This a true case of serendipity.  I think they looked really but the plan just didn’t go through.  so as the saying goes when you get lemons thrown at you make lemonade.  I hope you like.
Ciao for now,
Patty

Green Gradient

I love the color green especially when it comes in a rectangular paper with some white in it.  So, I did this gradient not because of the paper but because of the color is so cool and just summer.  It is tropical and I used two holo nail polishes I used  China Glaze LBR GRHR and Nubar Reclaim, which by the way I think is the most beautiful green polish ever.  I stamped using my new bundle monster plates.  I love those plates and have been stamping crazy.   I thought I would be excited when I got my two DRK plates but these plates are driving me crazy.  I like want stamp every thing.

Ciao for now,
Patty

The invention of the Jelly Sandwich

One day in a time that a lot of you were still not born a mother came home from work and called out to out to her daughter and said, "Honey, I stopped by that beauty store and bought you some of that perfume you like. The daughter's name who is Sally, runs to see her mom's purchase and sees it is a bottle of Charlie. Sally squeals with delight
"Thanks mom.".
Sally notices another item in the box. It is a bottle of nail polish. Butter London, Tea with the Queen, she immediately knew it wasn't for her.
Mom notices Sally looking at the polish and asks, "Do you like it?".
Sally says, "Nah, it is a " mom" color".
Mom says, "you can use it anytime."
The next day they woke up for breakfast and Sally noticed mom's nail polish. Mom asked Sally, "what do you think about. Isn't it a lovely color?"
Sally replies, "for older women." in a slightly sarcastic mood but there was something Sally was drawn to. It was a peachy pink color and looked really pretty on her mom's skin tone and thought it would look good on any skin tone.
Mom went to work and Sally went to school but she could not stop thinking about that polish. (a future polishaholic). As soon as Sally got home from school, she ran to the polish because sometime during Chemistry she thought of a way to wear her mother's polish. She had a bottle of Model's own Ibiza mix. She used two coats of the butter London and one coat of top coat, Seche Vite. It looked really nice and Sally thought to herself, I can rock this. at school the evil Sister Antionette told Sally her nails in no way were appropriate for school and she told her she better not see her hands with that stuff on her nails because girls who wear stuff like that only leads down an immoral path.
Sally's mother got home and Sally showed it to her mother. Sally's mom said, "it looks pretty on you, but I could never wear that. I am much too old to wear something like that." sounding a bit prudish. She told her mother what happened with the evil nun. Sally's mother told her not to listen to the nun and in no way does nail polish lead down an immoral path. We all have free will and we choose our paths.
While Sally' mom had been at work she thought of Sally's nails and did wish she could wear something like that. She got home and put a coat of the Model's Own Ibiza Mix it looked good but she felt it was too sparkly for day so she layered a coat of essence special top coat and ran out the door. All day at the office her co- workers raved about her nails. She felt like a queen.
That night Sally's mom and Dad had date night, having no time to change her polish she had an idea with her hand shaking she added a layer of topcoat. While Sally's mom and dad were eating the same old boring dinner and the same boring conversation. Sally's father told mom you look especially beautiful today. Sally's mother giggled and put her hands to cover her mouth. Dad reached to caress Mom's hands and he whispered to her why don't we take this food to go.
Meantime, Sally back at home fell asleep and forgot to take her polish off. Well as it turns out everyone in the household overslept the next day. Sally's mom ran in to wake Sally and told her mom that she forgot to take her polish off. They both thought what to do. They grabbed for the butter London polish and put a layer of polish on. Sally went to school and was greeted by the evil Sister Anionette. She looked at her hands but coudn't really see anything alarming. Sally giggled it off.
When she arrived home, she told her mother everything went ok and that is how the first jelly sandwich was created. And Sally, because of this incident on to own one of the biggest beauty supply stores in the country.

Just a cute little ditty for today. Hope you like.  I guess what I am saying is that you can have a beautiful nail polish and wear it alone, you can add a glitter mix and then add a coat of the original color for you jelly sandwich but in all three cases you have three beautiful manicure it is just whatever you choose to do.

Ciao for now.

Candy Shop Deborah Lippman

I’ve really been finding some good deals on some  Deborah Lippman nail polish.  This is candy shop with very girly colored glitter.  the  formula was a little thick as I have noticed with all Deborah Lippman polishes so I just put some Seche Vite restore.  That is GREAT!  Not only for your seche vite but also for your nail polish.  The thing is it is hard to find.  They NEVER have it at my Sally’s or any one I wonder into.  Forget about Ulta.   They don’t have it and act like they don’t even know it exists so my advice to everyone is to buy it online.  there are several places you can get it.  Ebay, Amazon, Transdesign etc.  After a couple of drops of restore it went on great and one coat of topcoat and you are good to go.  it is great for when you are just feeling really girly.  OH, and I got this one for $13.50.

Blue Monday

It is truly a blue Monday with the clouds out in the sky and being unable to eat next to nothing but I am thankful to be home from the hospital.  I got my bundle monster 2012 plates had to use them last night.  So, for this manicure I found some nail polish from Maybelline called the denim collection it is only 2 polishes and they are called denim wash and styled out for this manicure, I used styled out. The formula was good and it dried and allowed me to stamp well.  I’ll be honest I am not the best stampers and I do need to use the konad polishes if I don’t have a color I need  I usually get to mixing the color.  I am thinking of doing a gradient stamping color.  we will see ho that goes.  Maybelline can be purchased almost anywhere as you know but I did have to go to two walgreens to find these.  Price$5.00.
Caio for now,
Patty
