99 Luffballons

I will be honest for a couple of seasons now Deborah Lippman has failed to impress me with anything but this season.  Holy enchilada.  I ended up getting quit a few polishes and two mini sets.  The Wicked which I already did review and Space Oddity.  I need to work on that one because there is a small problem.  Then there were the silks.  Beautiful also.  I got two of those and then some random ones.  This one is just really one of my favorites.  It is just happy and reminds me of Candy Shop.   They are just fun.   One thing I have noticed with most Lippmann's is that when they are brand new they are always very thick and this one was no different.  I did have to put a few drops of thinner in it just to make it easier to work with but other than that there were no problems.  Fast dry time and smooth application.  Price:  $19.00.  I got this at Sephora.  I think it was a Sephora exclusive.  Another thing I really like about this is that it is not a Fall/Winter polish, you can literally wear it anytime.   That was one of the reasons I didn’t feel too bad paying the price.  So, check out the swatches and let me know what you think.

So, what do you think about it?  Do you think it is worth the price or not?

Girls,Girls, Girls

Today I received my Girls Collection Polishes from Deborah Lippman and I am pretty happy with them.  The only thing is that I don’t watch the show so, I really don’t know if the colors match the character.  I remember watching the first show but it didn’t hold my attention and I was still missing my usual Sex and the City girls.  So, I am going to watch some shows on demand and see if it is any better.

This is the packaging the polish come in which is pretty cute and good because I don’t have anymore shelf room for individual polish but for sets I do.  So, I do like that it came in a set.

This is Shoshanna.  A blue that tends to have a little lilac in it.  The formula was smooth.  This is three coats with a top coat of Seche Vite.  I am out of my favorite Nubar top coat.

The next one is Marnie.  A soft pink.  This one was a little streaky but was smooth with three coats.  The color reminds me a lot of Butter London Teddy Girl.  I will check to see how close they are.

The next one is Hannah a beautiful green leaning on some teal.  This one is my favorite of the collection.

The last one is Jessa.  A beautiful red.  It is more of a blue red than a purple red.  I wore it tonight and I know this is going to sound weird but it made my hands look like really young and clean I had been swatching most of the day so for my hands to look that good after what I had put them through, it was pretty good.  Another thing I noticed was that it made my hands look thinner and when a polish can do that I loved it.  The formula is really good on this one and I think it is my second favorite of the group.

So that is it.  I am not sure if this is still available.  I did not see it on the Nordstrom website.  I pre-ordered directly from the Deborah Lippman website.  I think it is still available on the Lippman website.  The only pitfall is that they are not sold individually.

Polish of Day 23 Forget You Deborah Lippman

I picked this up after I accidently got 2 Cleopatra in New York’s.  I like the polish I put it on Friday and then went to dinner with my sister.  I woke up in the morning and took these pictures at around 3:00 pm.  The formula was good it did not make a big glittery mess.  clean up was a breeze but what I did not do was paint on the tips I painted to the tips but did not do that across the top and you can tell by the morning that the ends seem to be coming off.  I could have done that but I do paint my nails every day so it was time to go anyway but It is a beautiful black polish with tons of multicolored glitter.   I do want to go ahead and get Happy Birthday also because it is similar to this one.  But it is not #1 on my need to have list.

Deborah Lippmann Let's Hear it For the Boy

I saw this and knew I had to have it.  It is a baby blue.  I know my niece is going to see it and want here nails painted.  It is a little like china glaze sea spray but without a gray undertone.
It is just a clean light blue.  It would look good on any skin tone.  I was surprised at how smooth the application was, usually they are a little thick but this one was perfect.

So, nice color or just no way, not for me?

Kimber's Challenge Day 5- Blue

For my favorite blue I chose Deborah Lippman's Ray of Light.  I love that it is navy almost back and it has red flakies in it.  It claims to be holographic but it really isn't.  I've worn it three times and I just don't see the holo in it.  I see the flakies but no holo.  I got this when it first came out at Nordstrom's and paid full price $18.00 but I just had to have it.  Even if it is not a holo it is still really pretty.

Do you htink this is a holo?   Or is it blue polish with red flakies?

Almost Paradise Deborah Lippmann

When I saw this color it was just so beautiful,  I knew I had to have it.  I used three coats and a top coat.  It lasted 4 days without chipping but I am pretty clumsy and hit my hands a lot on things.  I don’t know why.  Maybe I need to wear scuba gloves during the day.  I only do it at home no where else.  I do need to say that I am so clumsy that I have broken my pinkie twice and index finger once so sometimes if my hand poses look a little tense it is because I have usually had to position them to stay, but I also fell UP some stairs.  Notice I said UP not down and I landed on my elbow and had so much nerve damage that I lost complete feeling in my right arm.  So, painting my nails is really good exercise for keeping my dexterity up.  I guess what I am saying is that the nail painting is doctor approved for me.  Makes me laugh what else can I do.  I am just so clumsy.  So, back to the nail polish, it is so pretty and looks good with every color you can wear even orange.  I was surprised but it looked good.  The only thing I do notice about Lippman polishes is that they tend to be a little thick but I always put a dropper full of Seche Vite Restore and it works great. I will post more on Seche Vite Restore after the next two posts.
