It Matches

On Monday I went to a DBSA meeting and wore this shirt I decided to do a manicure that would match exactly to the shirt.  I used Essie Bikini So Teeny, using DRK-A plate and American Apparel 7th and Alameda to stamp the leopard pattern then stamped a flower on my ring and thumb as accents.  I really got a lot of compliments on it.  I think this summer I am going to challenge myself to wear patterns that match my clothes.  I have my spring wardrobe and I am now actively looking for bargains for fall.  I will tell you the one wardrobe item I just am addicted to is the HUE denim leggings.  I think I bought about seven pair all on sale of course but they are just so comfy.  I love them.  I think Nordstrom might have some on sale for like $12.00 you might want to try a pair or perhaps you have if you have maybe you can let the rest of us know what you think about them.  So, have fun with your manis this summer the colors are so pretty.  I am hearing through the grapevine that the color for fall is going to be hunter green.  I can’t wait to continue my shopping for fall.

The Pink One

Today I have a polish that is named exactly for what it is a pink one but when I say pink, I mean pink.  I can see why Pretty Serious Cosmetics named it this.  It kind of grabs your attention.  You think I have see a lot of pink polishes but to use something as basic as The Pink One there might be something special about it.  There is it is a glossy bright pink think neon pink but not a flat a glossy.  It definitely has blue undertones which makes it very strong.  I would also venture to say that it has some yellow.  This polish is not for the trying to give off a shy vibe to anyone.  This polish has to be worn with a strong sense of who you are a daring, happy go lucky lady.  So, if you want to get some attention this is definitely a polish that everyone will notice.  I think it is great and I am really glad to own this one.

And of course there has to be a seriously wild ring.  The stones on the lips are pink and I actually think the pink from the polish drowned it out.  But I saw this ring on ebay and knew I had to have it because a polish would come around that would be perfect for it and this was it.

So, this bold polish is made by Pretty Serious Cosmetics you can purchase their fabulous nail polish at their website Pretty Serious Cosmetics or at Llarowe.  They end up costing the same at both sites about $10.00 a bottle.

June Favorites

Well, looking at my Stats June breaks them all in that only published 11 posts.  So, this will probably be a very short list.

My polish problem was a good post for me to write just so I could see myself the extent of my need to let go and help find these babies another home because they are just sitting on a shelf.  I got so many suggestions and ideas so that is going to help me.  I won't do it today because I do abide because I do keep to the Sabbath.  But tomorrow is back to work.  (did you know you can schedule posts to come out at a later time and date?  I just found out.  That is really cool.)

Northern Star Enigmatic Doctor S

Today I have another glitter topper from Northern Star Nail Polish.  This beautiful glitter topper is loaded with matte teal and metallic blue, purple, orange, red, gold, and silver glitters  You can wear it or pair with a base color for more depth.  I chose to use a base color.  I used A England’s Sleeping Palace.  It was just the perfect purple because it was not over powering.  This polish was so easy to use compared to some other glitter toppers.  I did use a topcoat of Seche Vite and that gave me a soft even surface.
The possibilities with this polish are many.  I thought of pairing it with another polish but took the safe route.  I have a jelly light blue polish which would make a great jelly sandwich for this one.  I know before summer is over that is one I will try. Hopefully, no more accidents.  So, this polish can be bought at the Etsy store and if you buy now the owner is having a 15% off sale so if you like any of the ones you have seen now is the time to buy.  I was just on the site and there are some other really nice ones.  So check it out.

Saturday Shopping

Well, I never though this would happen but you those big boxes of cotton they sell at Sally’s?  I ran out.  So, I decided to take Goldie since they really like her visits.  I am just shocked that there is no more cotton.  I guess it lasted about a year and I really got my money’s worth but there were other things I wanted to do.  Victoria’s Secret is having a sale on panties 7 for $26.00 and even though I am not incontinent yet.  I don’t like holes in my panties and my husband will literally throw away anything that has even the smallest hole although I did find an old t-shirt that I threw away he saw it and freaked.  It turned out his mother had bought it for him.  We have gotten rid of most of our clothes from past “administrations”  (that is what we choose to call all our ex’s and between the two of us there are a lot, does that mean we were both you know, sluts.  Not me, I didn’t sleep with everyone I dated.  He maybe did.  I seems to have relationships where he seemed to have two week f_ck friends.  Oh, I don’t know.)  Boy, that was off the subject.  Anyway,  I came up with this manicure last night knowing that I was going to do something today and knew what I was going to wear.  So, I came up with this manicure.  First I am going to show you a picture of the shorts.

I have a lime green shirt I am going to wear with this.  So here is the manicure.

To get this look, I used Essie’s The More the Merrier, stamped with Konad special polish in white using Cheeky Plate #4 to create the checkerboard pattern.   You can find this checker board pattern on several sets of plate or if you are really good at it you can draw them out.  Doing a lady bug is easy but you have to be extremely ambidextrous and I am not that good.  So, on Pueen Plate #47 there is a lady bug that I stamped on the corner.  I think it came ok.  What do you think?  OH, and feel free to vent about any former administrations if you want.

Friday Night With Pueen

Usually on nights out I end up wearing something black.  Like tomorrow going to Temple I plan to wear a new black jumpsuit I got at Macy’s and you can wear any color but I tend to think neutrals, reds and just black goes best when wearing black so I decided to do this manicure.  I know you have seen it but in this case I used a darker neutral with a Pueen Plate that has three designs designed for this look.  I used Pueen plate 27 from the new set.  The set is really nice.  If you want to see a good review I recommend you watch my favorite YouTuber soguesswhat11 who does great reviews on stamping plates.  I used Klean Kolors Metallic to stamp.   Klean Kolors Metallics are great for stamping.  The neutral color I used was from my new Julep box.  I got the Boho box this month the polish name is Faye.  Then I topped with American Apparel Matte Top Coat but it more like the Essence Soft Effects.  It gives a semi matte look.  I ran out of my Essie which is a true Mattifier but I was pleased with the look.  Here are some more pictures.

Fourth of July Easy Manicure

I decided to do a very patriotic fourth of July manicure.  Some people really get into it.  Others do something else.  I was always a beach goer on the fourth but living in Houston, we just don’t have the beaches that I am used to so, I do the city girl thing.  You know barbeque and watch the fireworks.  I think this is the only city thing I really don’t enjoy but I make the best of it and throw on a red shirt and denim shorts.  So, something simple is really in order.

What I did here was use all OPI nail polishes.  I used I Saw U Saw Warsaw, Dutch Tulips, DS coronation and Alpine Snow (from left to right).  It was easy and will go with anything you want to wear come tomorrow and all these polishes are one coaters except for DS Coronation which is a two coater.  It literally took me five minutes to do this manicure.  So, if you are in a hurry you might want to try this.

Want to stamp?  Here is a quick stamping.  Make sure you use a top coat and make sure it is dry and you will get great results.

An easy striping job using Cheeky plate 4.  I striped the pinky (not the best once I saw it photographed but you get the idea) using a stripping brush and OPI I Saw U Saw Warsaw and used Konad White and Silver special polish to stamp.

This manicure is quick and easy a great one day manicure since you only need one coat removal will be easy and that too is important because you will probably only wear this for one day with the stamping without you can wear a couple of days.  I hope you all have a great fourth.

The Polish I Waited For About a Year and a Week

So, I know it sounds  crazy but I did wait for this polish a year and a week.  So, it happened about a month ago, I was checking my email and there it was notification from Ninja Polish that Pinkerbell Floam was in stock.  I had gotten this notification several times but by the time I got to the website all it said was sold out, notify when available?  Of course I always put in my email address finally I got the email went to the site and it said add to cart.  I don’t think I have ever made such a fast polish purchase.  So, the night before my accident my husband and Goldie did their nightly walk to the mail box.  Goldie loves when Mommy gets “presents”.  When I saw that the package was from Ninja, I knew what it was.  I was so excited but had already done my nails for the next day.  Who would have thought what was going to happen.  I got home to like nine packages.  I took advantage of a Gap sale, of an on going Nordstrom sale and a new website called Zulilly, which is like HauteLook but not as expensive and has really cool clothes at a really good deal.  I also got my Macy’s order and have just been so happy to be home but I am overwhelmed with polish.  I didn’t realize how much I really order.

So, as far as Pinkerbell goes I see it as a very versatile polish.  it is mainly light blue with pink and yellow glitters.  I did use undies.  I used Zoya’s Hazel but I think a crème color might be better because I ended up needing to use more coats because it looked metallic and its not supposed to look like that but you can used this with a pink and a light layer of Pinkerbell or yellow with a light layer.  I just love floam and if you think about it, it was one of the first texture nail polishes created.  I wonder about that because even Pretty n Polished had sand art at least a year before all these textured polishes came out.  So, if you have ever used floam you know it dries matte and you can get a shine using the right topcoat or several coats of your regular one.  I chose semi matte and was very happy with the results.  So, here is the pretty Pinkerbelle.

Where have Patty and Goldie Been

Hello.  I have been gone a while, I know.  I was in a pretty bad car accident two kids drag racing.  I was out like for two days woke up did not know what had happened.  Not good.  Slowly, my memory came back but I had very bad experiences with police in my hometown because they literally let a man  stalk me for months.  I do not trust cops and when they started questioning me and I had no recollection of what happened, they did not believe me and started to think I was protecting someone.   I guess it doesn't matter where you go.  My therapist and MD had to tell them about my PTSD and disdain towards law enforcement.  I basically had to stay a couple of extra days but I did find out that my hypothalamus is still not producing serotonin and norerenpherin.  Still going to need medication.  As far as physical injuries, two broken ribs, cuts, a head concussion and scrapes.  No injuries to my face.  Lots of hydrocodone for two more days.  Oh, and release to not have to talk to cops any more.  I was just at the wrong place at the wrong time.  So, even though I got back Friday I just have been taking it easy and Tuesday has always been my workday so, I decided to try and get some work done but not much success the good thing is that I have some posts in draft and oh, my gosh, I had so many packages when I got home.  So, I am 75% back and hope that you all did not forget me.  Goldie was not with me so she has been fine.  My husband said while I was gone she spent all her time in the polish room.

Kimber’s Challenge A-Z Letter X

Ok, so this is Ximena from Julep.  Julep calls it Simone but Simone is the English version of the name Ximena.  So, I thought figure that is an “X”.   I have a friend whose name is Simone and at times have heard her referred to as Ximena.  Ximena is a very popular name in Latin America and since Spanish is spoken in the world more than English I feel I am justified in saying this is an X.  If you don’t agree then I failed this challenge letter but I really tried.   I am dying to see the other creative ways the rest of the girls came up with X and very curious to see if anyone was able to hit the nail one the head.
