I have a secret

My secret is that, I really like pink polish.  I read so many blogs with girls saying they really don't like pink.  When I was younger I did not used to either but somewhere along the line I really started to like it.  I am a girly girly.  I never real brothers.  I don't even know how to ride a bike.  So, what can you expect.  I have two sons and all I really knew was they pee in your face when you change their diapers, they have to get circumcised and they wear blue.   So, I did that and just loved them like a mother should but didn't play sports.  I only played tennis, they were not interested.  I was good at Orly
shopping for them.  Then, my daughter same along and I wasn't lost.  Dolls, dresses, lipstick and polish.  See, I just like pink polish.
So, Sally Beauty Supply is having a sale on Orly nail polish.  Two for twelve, so I picked up a couple.  This one is called Sugar Plum.  I meant to get Sante Fe Rose but I like this one and will probably get it this week.  They will be on sale all month.  I am going to have a lot of swatches this week.  But I am still in the challenge.  I learned a really cool trick I am dying to share.  The glue as a base for glitter worked GREAT!   I have just happen to come across some fabulous OPI's.  The Bond series has already been released in Europe so, that means we should not be far behind.  Keep an eye out on EBay.  As far as the formula goes.  It's Orly.  It is good.  Quick dry time and smooth application.
So, here she is Sugar Plum.

I really like it.  What do you think?

Patty

My Other Sally purchase

I wanted Velvet Rope and ended up picking up Royal Velvet.  In the bottle it looks really nice but I did not get that once it was on my nails.  I am not sure it is a keeper.  I really wanted Velvet Rope but sometimes after I see pictures I change my mind.  We will see.

What do you think keeper or exchange?

OPI's Smoking in Havana

I had to swatch this one because the color is so pretty.  It looks a lot like the new OPI from the German collection called Deutche, you want me, baby.  I have had it for a long time and worn it but never swatched and worn it.

Do you think it looks like the new color Deutche, you want me baby?

Kimber's challenge. Gradient nails

I love to do gradients.  I did this one with Models Own, Blue Lagoon and Sophie's Pink.  I used my DRK-B plate to stamp.  I like the way there is a little purple in the middle where the two colors meet.

I do like the way these came out.  I just wish I would have stuck to one stamp pattern.

Ciao Bella's,
Patty

Kimber's 31 day challenge- Rainbow

Today's challenge is to recreate a rainbow.  Our interpretation of it whatever it may be.  I love rainbows.  There are times that I have seen three in the sky at once.  It's like a promise that the rain will end and things will be back to normal.  Like today it really rained in Houston.  I go pick up my niece's and nephew, we thought we had an umbrella but it was broken.  Luckily my sister was home and she went to pick the little ones up.  She had an umbrella.  Now, when we get home it is flooded because the city engineers of Houston are unable to fix the flooding.  I should not say that my brother in law was a city engineer.  I just say that to get a rise out of him.  He is a very good engineer.  I finally after 10 years really understand what he does so now we talk a lot more now.  Well we get home and it is flooded and the princess could not have her paws touching water.  So, we had to sit in the car till the rain slowed down enough to get down, midway to the apartment though, I put Goldie on the ground and told her to run to her house.  She was a little upset.  I thought it was funny my feet were all wet because I was wearing sandals and it was just a small puddle she had to go through.  I need her to be a little tough so she can keep the boys away.   We haven't gotten her fixed something always comes up when we are going to do it but there are no male dogs around her so she is OK.
So, this manicure was pretty easy.  I used mainly OPI colors.  I got most of the polish room done and I am working out of there now so all my opi's are up and I have about 200 of them and about 150 china glaze.  The rest are miscellaneous.   I have taken some pictures and when my husband puts the next two shelves up we will be done.
I hope you like these they really easy to do and I thought they looked neat.

So, there is my rainbow. I hope you like it.  I will put the colors in the label section tomorrow.

Deborah Lippman Flash Dance

Last night I talked about this new awesome glitter removal and said I was going to try it today.  So, I started with one coat of Elmer’s School Glue.  Then my base coat Seche Clear, 2 Coats of the Flash Dance, and two coats of Seche Vite.  This polish just ate it up.  This is the first time I wear this polish and it really looks flaky.  The application was wonderful usually I need to put some Seche Vite Restore in Deborah Lippman polish because they are so thick but not this one and it just dried super fast.  I thought I’d put a coat on lay down read a page of this book I am reading but no way, this stuff was fast to dry.  Then the novela I was watching got really steamy so I had to watch.  It was Gabriel Soto.  Wikipedia him he is hot.  So, I was cleaning as I was watching and boom I was done and so was he.  It almost seemed like the glue helped the acetone clean faster some sort of chemical reaction.  I don’t know but I have never cleaned glitter polish so fast.  I look at the pictures now and yeah, I should have used my Lush putty to get everything out but it looked alright and since I took these inside I didn’t see the flaws I see when I take pictures outside.  I really prefer outside pictures so there is some stray glitter but not as much as there could be.  Tomorrow, same time I will attempt to take the polish off without anything.  Right now, if feels like it is solidly on my fingers.  It does not feel smushy or anything like that.  So we will see what happens tomorrow.  I am excited cause if it works I am going to wear glitter a lot more.
Ciao,
Patty

Whimsical by Pam Superhero

Today, I wore the beautiful Superhero.  Now, I am going to say something about this polish, it radiates light.  I have never seen anything like it.  I felt like I had superpowers in my fingers,  It was so cool.   I loved wearing it.  I don’t know how Pam formulated this but it is genius.  Some of the pictures I took,  I literally had to get rid of because it was like light was radiating from the polish and while that is cool.  I want you all to see how pretty this polish looks on the hand so to tone some of the light down I had to hide my hands in bushes which looks good too.  I was able to get a great macro shot too.  So, check it out.

Elixir Lacquer Some Kind of Connery

Today I have two of Elixir's best selling polishes at the time I bought them.  I just checked Overall Beauty where you can still find them.  I just did not get around to swatching and posting.  I kind of have a lot of polishes that I have not swatched and shown because when I started my blog I wanted to have a wide variety of polish but I kept buying new stuff and never got around to show some of the other stuff but I am going to maybe start swatching more than stamping but I am addicted to stamping.  I am just going to have to make time for both.  Both these polishes are pretty much like most glitter, they work best with the tap and roll motion and I am definitely going to make sure I always put panties on my glitters you get so much more out of them.  Just one light coat.

OK, there is this new thing going around the web about using all purpose glue as a base when you use glitters and when you want to take them off you just peel them off.  I haven't tried it but I saw it on youtube from soguesswhat11 who says she got it from a blog post from wacky laki.  Regardless of where it came from you NEED to watch this video.  OMG, I am going to wear glitter polish more.  She put the glue in an empty bottle of Seche Vite, (like we don't have a couple of bottles laying around).  The she painted the glue on her nail came back the next day and with an orange stick she just lifted the side and it came off whole.  I am trying that.  I am going to try it tonight and let you know tomorrow.

Back to the polish, sorry had a freak out moment when I saw that video.  This is Some kind of Connery a dark teal glitter,  I took the pictures outside like I usually do and it looks absolutely gorgeous.

The next one I have is With A K.  This is a beautiful fuchsia glitter.

Isn't she pretty.  I don't know why but I refer to like browns, blues and greens in the masculine and pinks, reds and ivory's in the feminine must be the Spanish in me.  I have a few more from Elixir so look for them in the near future.

Ciao bellas,
Patty

Riders on the storm

One more post for tonight.  I love the Doors music.  One of the heights of my visit to Los Angles was going to the Whiskey A Go Go.  His pictures still adorn the outside of the famous night club.  I could almost feel his presence there.   Can you imagine being there when Jim Morrison was just going off on his musical tangent?  I must have been like magic.  No wonder women loved him.  Taken way too soon.  Jim we love you.  Here is my ode to the song that has been around since 1971 and still popular after 40 years later it is still played daily on the radio at least the station I listen to.  It was art.

I got this look by painting my nails with OPI I Vant to be a Texan.  Then used my new plate from Llarowe it is the big plate-B.   Got some white, grey and black Konad stamping paint and randomly painted parts of the image scraped and stamped.  This is what came out.  I had originally done it in green but it just hit me that this reminded me of the song Riders on the Storm.  That is how I came up with this design.

The Best Smelling Nail Polish

This is the best smelling nail polish.  Why?  Because it is scented.  I’ve tried others but the smell just seems to be really strong and then wear off or just has a cheap smell.  This is Tuff Scent.  It is sold online only in a large variety of scents.  They are $10.00 a bottle with free shipping.  Who could ask for more?  The formula is smooth but I did notice in my pictures there seems to be something on my middle finger but I looked and there was nothing there.  I really like this polish it dries rather rapidly and I love that just because even though I am patient with everything sometimes waiting for polish to dry.  Go figure.  This polish can be bought at tuffscent.com.  Come to think about it, I think I want another bottle or two. I have two others one glitter I think it sea breeze scent and one that smells like gardenia’s.  I absolutely love the smell of gardenia’s.  But I did buy four butter London’s today on sale.  Maybe I will order them tomorrow.  Like it makes a difference.  I am an addict.  We can’t control ourselves sometimes.  I am ordering.
Ciao bellas,
Patty
Don’t forget to check out the giveaway.  It is four Peruvian nail polishes and the new Cheeky nail plates plus some other stuff I will pick up from now till the end of the giveaway.  I am going to be working on trying to create a link for the side bar and links for the bottom of posts today.  Wish me luck.

Kimber's Lacquer Challenge butter London's Shag

My favorite metallic in my arsenal right now is butter London's Shag.  The color is rusty brown.  I would not put anything on it and that is a lot for me to say because I always seem to want to stamp or put flakies or do something but not with this one.  It is gorgeous just the way it is and if you don't have it and have an Ulta nearby head over there because they are having a BOGO sale on butter London today only.  I was going over there but Essie from Iheart Pretty Polish said she ordered hers so I did the same and if you don't have an Ulta nearby you can do the same.  Back to Shag, I even like the name.  So, I love this polish.  The formula is great and the dry time is fast also.

White Wedding by pOlish pOlish

I bought this as soon as I saw it on pre-order.  I knew it would just be beautiful and it was but oy, four coats.  I don’t like doing that I should have put a coat of just plain white polish.  Also, when you use four coats of polish, clean up is a real you know what.  In this case it was.  I can’t wait to wear it again but I am definitely going to use a coat of white just so I don’t have to use so much of this beautiful polish.   In certain lights you can see the shimmer of pink and blue.

You can see a bit of the blue and pink shimmer.  How do you like the different hand poses?  yes or make them go away?
