My Summer Zoya Picks The Shimmers

I got my favorite picks from the Zoya Summer line last week and I picked my very favorite but then Zoya has their promotion out and I was able to pick the rest of the shimmers and crèmes except for one that I just totally have and would be a dupe for two other polishes.  So, here they are.

My first pick was Rikki.  I don’t have anything like this.  I have olive toned greens but nothing with a real green tint and I absolutely love this one.  It is Zoya the formula is great.  Two coats and you are ready to go.

My next choice was Bobbi.  A beautiful magenta.  I just love the way it looks.  It makes me feel so feminine when I wear it and the formula is great.  I think I might start reaching for this one a little more than some of the others.

You might be surprised to find that Amy was my third choice since I love orange/corals so much.  I do love this one but I love the other ones a little more especially Bobbi.  I am not saying that I won’t be really reaching for this one but since orange/coral is my favorite color to wear plain I obviously have a lot of them.

Now, I this was the last swatch of the day and my cuticles are a little rough but don’t let it take away from just focusing on the color of the polish on the nails.  This is so summery.  I had to have it and luckily it is not a dupe for butter London’s Sunbaker.  I do want to say one thing to Zoya.  When are you going to make a polish named after me.  They should have a contest.  Come on Zoya Patricia or Patty isn’t bad. You named one after my dog and not me.  Do you have a polish named after you?  If so, what is it and do you have the polish?

Girly Manicure

This is not the conventional girly manicure but it still is girly.  It is a sexy girly manicure.  Something that you can wear out on a date and look like a grown woman.  I got this idea from watching Carmen Electra on some show and remembered when she was going to marry Dave Navarro and they wanted a very dark, girly and sophisticated look.  So, I tried it and my husband really liked it.  You know when your husband or significant other notices your manicure it is good.  It does a couple of flaws but not enough to redo the whole thing.  I don’t know about the rest of you but you know the people we live with see all our polish and manicures and I think if they complimented every one we would get suspicious or it just would not seem special.  So, I am pretty happy with this look.  I wore it the whole weekend because sometimes we just do so many things on the weekend there’s no time for nails.  Just enough time for moisturizing.
So, here is my mani.

So, to achieve this look.  I used China Glaze Elephant Walk, then stamped with Bundle Monster plates the third set.  Used American Apparel Matte coat and I was set to go.  So, what do you think girly or not girly?

Crumpet Tri Color Challenge Day 2

I know I am late turning this in but sometimes you just can’t control life and shit happens.  Bad thing is shit happens everyday.  Now if it could only happen really everyday for me and  could stop taking something for that then the shit might not be so bad.  I wonder how many times I can say shit in this post.  I have a potty mouth so I could probably put it in every sentence but I won’t because no one wants to hear it.  Do you?
Well, this is my interpretation of a video I saw on YouTube.  What would we do without YouTube.  Sometimes I am just not in a creative mood and I can’t think of anything then I start looking at a video or two from YouTube and I get an idea.  I forgot I am working on something that I haven’t seen anyone do.  Hope I can work on it tomorrow.  I love my husband but sometimes he just monopolizes so much of my time,  it drives me crazy.  I am like please I need a vicodin just to hang and forget about all the other stupid things we do together.  Ahh but he has a big day tomorrow.  Nordstrom's, American Apparel, Victoria’s Secret, Charming Charlie's, Macy’s and Versona will all be blessed with the presence of Mr. Greenberg tomorrow.  And I do have an Ulta coupon that expires tomorrow but you know what I have no desire to buy polish.  I can’t believe I admitted that.  It is just that I just bought a Chanel nail polish I have wanted and I couldn’t get any type of deal on it so I paid full price.  That’s right.  Full price.  I feel a little guilty.  But in time guilt fades and I’ll go back to my evil polish wheeling and dealing ways.  Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
So, there is a stamp for this design I just don’t have it, so I free handed it.  It wasn’t that hard and it is true if you let the nail move instead of moving the striper when doing long lines it does work.  On my pointer and middle finger I wanted to be boss but on the ring and pinkie I let the striper be boss and I think I got much better results.  So, I have my entry for Tuesday done so I won’t be late I hate that.  Plus,  I have a little different take on a girly manicure which we post on Sundays.  It’s a little on the Jodie Arias side.  A little dirty but still very girly.  So watch for that on Sunday.  I’ve got a few posts that are in draft.  I’ll get to them Sunday.  I was asleep and woke up and could not sleep because I knew this was pending so I am going to go back to sleep now.  Hope you like.  Check out cute polish on YouTube for what was my inspiration.  I think it is called basket weave.  Till Sunday.  Have a great Saturday.

Kimber’s Challenge A-Z Letter O

Today letter O stands for what else can you expect from me, sorry, O stands for Nars Orgasm.  I remember when this collection came out everyone went wild for it.  It is still popular today.  I got this polish less than a year ago because I just really like corals and thought it would be naughty to have.   So, the formula on this one better than last week’s Night Porter but it does take a while to dry and when it is late and you want to go to sleep and your husband is asking you in that way to come to bed I just look at him and say I gotta do this.  You can imagine what his response is.  But I do love the color but again is it worth the price tag and I just got to say no.  I bought it because my daughter was in town and she has the blush and lipstick and I told her I would buy the nail polish to match.  She was up an hour doing her nails just because this polish needs three coats for opacity and then like ten minutes in between coats to dry.  So, here I am with another bad review.  Third one this month, I am just being honest but with this one I can at least see some nice stamping going on and the color isn’t that bad just not Wow!  So, here are my pictures.

So, now I have a question for all those who haven’t seen this yet.  This is from GALS plate 24.  What is this image?  I think it goes appropriately with this polish.  Maybe I should take it to the streets.  I should go to the mall wearing this polish and see what kind of reactions I get.   I am going to do that.  It is literally driving me crazy because some of you know what I think it is.  I just might have to write to GALS and find out what it is.  But I’ll have a little fun with it before I do that.

Crumpet’s Tri Color Challenge Challenge 1

Well the second part of this challenge has begun.  Yesterday, my day was free and the ideas were flowing so I did three manicures.  When I was getting ready to post them, I looked at them and excuse the language, they looked like shit!  I was not going to post anything like what I did.  I am even embarrassed to say I had well it wasn’t three it was only two failed manicures.  So, there was like no way I was going to be able to go and whip one up I was exhausted.  I don’t know what happened but today, I slept until 1:30 pm.  I had therapy at 3:00 so there was no way I was going to get anything done until I got home so I hurried home and have taken my time and came up with something that I feel is post worthy.  I just told myself if it looks like crap I am going to scrap it.  I changed the polish I was going to use and got much better results.  So, first to the polish I am going to use for the next 3 challenges.  They are all made by a brand called Peripera.  The only place I have bought them is on eBay.  They are pretty inexpensive but are very pigmented.dots
I really like these polishes because you can stamp with most of them.  So, if I want to stamp during a challenge I can use the polish I have chosen.  The only thing is that these colors only have numbers no names.
So, I used the pink as my base and pueen plate 12.  I was able to stamp with the turquoise and orange.

I alternated the blue and orange stamp and then dotted the open spaces you can still see the pink come through on the image.  So I was able to use all three colors.
I hope you like.

Giveaway links

I was going to get it together and keep up with giveaways but I stopped several entries because of the ridiculous "demands" some bloggers are making.  I don't know who is making these demands if it is the blogger or the company providing the prize.  I actually had one option that I had to go to Rite Aide and take a picture of  a polish display to post on my Pinterest page and my blog, put my blog on your blog roll and put my giveaway picture on your sidebar.  I am sorry but no one is going to force me to put your blog on my blog roll.  We don't even have Rite Aides in Houston.  So, if I am asked to post a giveaway on my blog I will but once the giveaway is over I am deleting that post.  There is no way of knowing what will be asked of you for that reason, I am not going to do the giveaway link post anymore I am just going to post giveaways that ask me to post it on my blog.  I am all for helping promote someone's giveaway but within reason.

Good Morning, Good Morning, Good Morning

It's that time again.  You know, you are sleeping and then that irritating sound goes off.  Time for coffee.  Now, I don't drink coffee because I never have and of course it is on my diet restrictions but I know a lot of people who do.  So, let's just say you're waking up and you look at your hands and remember you put this great polish on the night before.  That happens to me a lot .  It happened with this polish and I was wow!  Then ran out to take pictures.  That is usually my morning routine during the week.  This is Morning Java from Pretty Serious.  It is beautiful when it sparkles in the sunlight.    I love polish like this that is not a metal but shines like crazy.  This one does that and I love it.

Adventures in Stamping. Spring Colors

This week our challenge was to come up with a manicure using spring colors.   What I decided to do was a skittle manicure.  I used all Essie polishes except on the thumb.  On the thumb, I used OPI Funky Donkey, the Essie's I used were on pinky Tart Deco, in the Cab Ana from the new resort collection, Fair Game from the same collection and Madison Ave.  I hate to have shown them before actually switching and reviewing but time is just flying this month.  I decided to use my new pueen plates and I really like them.  They have really nice designs nothing weird like another plate set.  So, that is my spring manicure.

Patty

OPI Woman’s Perogotive

This is OPI's Women's Perogotive.  It is a frosted orange and I really like it.  Just the other day I showed Butter London's Sunbaker.  They are not dupes.  This one is much lighter.  The formula is a little funky in that it streaks a little but it eventually smooths out.  This needed three coats for opacity and a top coat.   I love the gold high lights in it and it is like any other OPI when it comes to dry time except for the jellies which all take longer to dry.  This was actually my first choice of the Euro Central line and then Czech My Czechbook.  Most people liked the Czechbook first but I am a total sucker for orange/rust colors like this.  It just reminds me of a sunset and all the beautiful ones I saw growing up on the beach.  I just remember that it only lasted about 5 minutes but it was always beautiful.  So, there is a story to this polish.   I guess when you get to be a person of my age all you really have that you can't take away are your memories.  Oh, I just had a birthday and can't believe some of the wonderful things I have been able to see.   I hope there will be many more.

Cover Girl Outlast

This is one of the polishes of the giveaway and it really is a pretty color.  It is not a really a glitter but it appears to be very fine milled glitter.  It is a little holographic in that it shines purple and gold.  I followed the directions without base coat and no top coat.  I loved the formula but do admit I was so tempted to put a topcoat on just out of habit but had to see how long it would last.  For me, it stayed perfect looking about four days.   I could change my polish everyday so sometimes wear is not the most important thing to me.  I want polishes that dry fast the dry time is a little longer than the polishes I like.  If you are someone who wants long wear this is your polish.  I would not have a problems saying it lasts better than a Butter London but again it is your choice.  Me I love any polish that dries fast and although this one did not take the time I prefer it wasn't like I had to wait an extra five minutes it was only a minute longer.  So, will I buy more, of course,  I already bought a really pretty beige one because I think they will be great to take on vacation and I really like some of the colors.  They have some really great colors.  So, enter the giveaway and try your luck at winning this prize.

Most Worn Polish This Month

I got this polish at the end of last month and realized I have worn it three times.  That is very odd form me because I get new polish almost every day.  When this one came, I just had to put it on and wore it for a couple of days, then took it off and wore it two more times.  It is such a neutral color I could not believe it I wore it with brown, white black and even green and it looked good.  This is Contrary Polish and is called Ain’t No Sunshine.  It is supposed to be a dupe for Illamasqua’s Raindrops.  I don’t have Raindrops but I am trying to get it.  If I can do it I can do a comparison or if you have it can you leave a comment so the rest of us can know if it is even close to being a dupe.  It is a greyish light blue and has white flecks.  The formula is really good the dry time is average it takes two coats for opacity and a coat of top coat.  I really like it.  It might be one of those that you buy a second one just in case they discontinue it.
