No Plain Jane and Hits Phenomena Moonbow

When I got Moonbow I was really freaked out because it was one color then it turned another color what I did not know is that it is a shifting glitter that you can put on any color nail polish.  You could put I on green, teal, or even a dark pink.  The camera could not pick up all the different colors and I could not contort my  hands to take the picture.  I took around 40 pictures so, I really hope I pick the best ones that can show how it shifts  Borealis is one of the gift prizes and it can go on several colors also.  Taking it off was a easy even though it is glitter it comes off easily with acetone since the glitters are so small

It is hard to tell the color shifts but believe me they are there.  Some people don’t like polish that changes colors, I do, what about you?

Zoya Natty

Well, I am back and boy did I have a lot of mail.  I am going to be swatching all week but I can't help it I am going to have to stamp or do something.  This Natty that I did not get from the BOGO sale because I could not remember the name but when I got my reciept, it said that you could order more polish and not pay shipping so I took advantage of that and got Natty.  I am really glad I did because I don't have anything like it.  It is a cross between teal and navy blue.  It is a creme and goes on like butter.

butter London Wallis

I bought Wallis last month and forgot I bought it.  I found it today and wanted to share it with you all today.  It went on great dried fast and with it's yellow background sparkle it is really pretty.  It does fall into the neutral category in which I think you can wear it with almost any color except red.  Red is a hard color to match up sometimes.  But it is going to be around for the fall.  Color blocking will be big this fall.  I don't always dress according to trend.  I might buy one or two items but then I just stick to what I like.  When I was younger I was always a season ahead.  When flared jeans came out I a pair the year before.  Same goes with polish.  Buy what you like, what looks good on you and what you can afford.   I look through my nail polish and think I have a lot of polish.  Like I bought the whole OPI Holland Collection and I must admit there are colors I have not used.  So, with the German line I only bought the ones I liked.  The new butter London has one more color I really want so, I might get it tomorrow.  Well ok here is Wallis

Yesterday’s mail

DSCF3475

This is yesterday’s mail.  I got 2 Cult Nails Evil Queen and Manipulative, Orly’s Hang Ten, It’s Not Rocket Science and I got the Velvet Robe,  Then from Butter London, I got Artsy Dodger, Henley Regatta, Macbeth and Knackered  also a little shipment from GlimmerbyErica I Heart You.  One of the polishes are in the giveaway and I gotta say these are close to Lynderellas.  I still have not found those $20.00 Lynderellas on eBay and I look every day.

So, enjoy the swatching show for  a bit.  I ordered a whole bunch of OPI’s that you all are going to love and I still have my Elvis collection.  I have to say that I really think OPI is my favorite polish.  Do you have a for sure favorite brand of polish and if you do what is it?

Ciao for now,

Sparkly Nails for the Holidays

Some of you may know that there are only two days of the year Jews are required to spend time at temple well that will be Sunday night and Monday for the New Year.  This is a celebration so people wear their fancy clothes.  I will be wearing a black and white dress and even though I kind of act silly or immature in real life I am expected to act grown-up, except around our rabbi.  He is so cool.   I am really close to him we are the same age and we kind of grew up at the same time.  So, I see him acting very grown-up, I laugh.  So, I am wearing Katamiss kiss with Lion Herd on the tips.  It is perfect for this occasion.  It just kind of shows that you can be subdued and still look young.

What do you think?  Is it way too boring? Or just right for an immature adult acting grown-up?

Deborah Lippmann Let's Hear it For the Boy

I saw this and knew I had to have it.  It is a baby blue.  I know my niece is going to see it and want here nails painted.  It is a little like china glaze sea spray but without a gray undertone.
It is just a clean light blue.  It would look good on any skin tone.  I was surprised at how smooth the application was, usually they are a little thick but this one was perfect.

So, nice color or just no way, not for me?
Ciao,
Patty

I have a secret

My secret is that, I really like pink polish.  I read so many blogs with girls saying they really don't like pink.  When I was younger I did not used to either but somewhere along the line I really started to like it.  I am a girly girly.  I never real brothers.  I don't even know how to ride a bike.  So, what can you expect.  I have two sons and all I really knew was they pee in your face when you change their diapers, they have to get circumcised and they wear blue.   So, I did that and just loved them like a mother should but didn't play sports.  I only played tennis, they were not interested.  I was good at Orly
shopping for them.  Then, my daughter same along and I wasn't lost.  Dolls, dresses, lipstick and polish.  See, I just like pink polish.
So, Sally Beauty Supply is having a sale on Orly nail polish.  Two for twelve, so I picked up a couple.  This one is called Sugar Plum.  I meant to get Sante Fe Rose but I like this one and will probably get it this week.  They will be on sale all month.  I am going to have a lot of swatches this week.  But I am still in the challenge.  I learned a really cool trick I am dying to share.  The glue as a base for glitter worked GREAT!   I have just happen to come across some fabulous OPI's.  The Bond series has already been released in Europe so, that means we should not be far behind.  Keep an eye out on EBay.  As far as the formula goes.  It's Orly.  It is good.  Quick dry time and smooth application.
So, here she is Sugar Plum.

I really like it.  What do you think?
Ciao,
Patty

My Other Sally purchase

I wanted Velvet Rope and ended up picking up Royal Velvet.  In the bottle it looks really nice but I did not get that once it was on my nails.  I am not sure it is a keeper.  I really wanted Velvet Rope but sometimes after I see pictures I change my mind.  We will see.

What do you think keeper or exchange?

OPI's Smoking in Havana

I had to swatch this one because the color is so pretty.  It looks a lot like the new OPI from the German collection called Deutche, you want me, baby.  I have had it for a long time and worn it but never swatched and worn it.

Do you think it looks like the new color Deutche, you want me baby?

Kimber's challenge. Gradient nails

I love to do gradients.  I did this one with Models Own, Blue Lagoon and Sophie's Pink.  I used my DRK-B plate to stamp.  I like the way there is a little purple in the middle where the two colors meet.

I do like the way these came out.  I just wish I would have stuck to one stamp pattern.

Ciao Bella's,
Patty

Kimber's 31 day challenge- Rainbow

Today's challenge is to recreate a rainbow.  Our interpretation of it whatever it may be.  I love rainbows.  There are times that I have seen three in the sky at once.  It's like a promise that the rain will end and things will be back to normal.  Like today it really rained in Houston.  I go pick up my niece's and nephew, we thought we had an umbrella but it was broken.  Luckily my sister was home and she went to pick the little ones up.  She had an umbrella.  Now, when we get home it is flooded because the city engineers of Houston are unable to fix the flooding.  I should not say that my brother in law was a city engineer.  I just say that to get a rise out of him.  He is a very good engineer.  I finally after 10 years really understand what he does so now we talk a lot more now.  Well we get home and it is flooded and the princess could not have her paws touching water.  So, we had to sit in the car till the rain slowed down enough to get down, midway to the apartment though, I put Goldie on the ground and told her to run to her house.  She was a little upset.  I thought it was funny my feet were all wet because I was wearing sandals and it was just a small puddle she had to go through.  I need her to be a little tough so she can keep the boys away.   We haven't gotten her fixed something always comes up when we are going to do it but there are no male dogs around her so she is OK.
So, this manicure was pretty easy.  I used mainly OPI colors.  I got most of the polish room done and I am working out of there now so all my opi's are up and I have about 200 of them and about 150 china glaze.  The rest are miscellaneous.   I have taken some pictures and when my husband puts the next two shelves up we will be done.
I hope you like these they really easy to do and I thought they looked neat.

.
So, there is my rainbow. I hope you like it.  I will put the colors in the label section tomorrow.

Deborah Lippman Flash Dance

Last night I talked about this new awesome glitter removal and said I was going to try it today.  So, I started with one coat of Elmer’s School Glue.  Then my base coat Seche Clear, 2 Coats of the Flash Dance, and two coats of Seche Vite.  This polish just ate it up.  This is the first time I wear this polish and it really looks flaky.  The application was wonderful usually I need to put some Seche Vite Restore in Deborah Lippman polish because they are so thick but not this one and it just dried super fast.  I thought I’d put a coat on lay down read a page of this book I am reading but no way, this stuff was fast to dry.  Then the novela I was watching got really steamy so I had to watch.  It was Gabriel Soto.  Wikipedia him he is hot.  So, I was cleaning as I was watching and boom I was done and so was he.  It almost seemed like the glue helped the acetone clean faster some sort of chemical reaction.  I don’t know but I have never cleaned glitter polish so fast.  I look at the pictures now and yeah, I should have used my Lush putty to get everything out but it looked alright and since I took these inside I didn’t see the flaws I see when I take pictures outside.  I really prefer outside pictures so there is some stray glitter but not as much as there could be.  Tomorrow, same time I will attempt to take the polish off without anything.  Right now, if feels like it is solidly on my fingers.  It does not feel smushy or anything like that.  So we will see what happens tomorrow.  I am excited cause if it works I am going to wear glitter a lot more.
Ciao,
Patty

Whimsical by Pam Superhero

Today, I wore the beautiful Superhero.  Now, I am going to say something about this polish, it radiates light.  I have never seen anything like it.  I felt like I had superpowers in my fingers,  It was so cool.   I loved wearing it.  I don’t know how Pam formulated this but it is genius.  Some of the pictures I took,  I literally had to get rid of because it was like light was radiating from the polish and while that is cool.  I want you all to see how pretty this polish looks on the hand so to tone some of the light down I had to hide my hands in bushes which looks good too.  I was able to get a great macro shot too.  So, check it out.
