Macy's haul

This is new for me and I don't want to stray away from polish but I just got some cute things at Macy's for a really good price.

First, I got this army-like sweater.  It retails for 79.00.  I paid 32.00.

 

 

 

 

 

The next thing I got was a short sleeve sweater in olive with fringes on the bottom.  I do like fringes when they are done right.  Sometimes they just make you look like a country whore.

 

 

 

Another sweater that is short sleeved but has some character because you can wear a shirt underneath it in almost any color you want and it has accent buttons down the side.  This was a bargain.  $13.00.

 

 

The next thing I just had to get was this white shirt because it was $7.00 and I would have been stupid not to.  They had it in black at the same price but I think by the time I got to check out they sold out and I was not able to purchase it.  I like it because I can wear it with anything.  I have.  Last weekend I wore it with denim shorts and my pink ugg boots.  KISS.  I was comfortable all day long.

 

 

 

Next, the greatest invention.  Jeggings that look like jeans.  These ones have the zipper and back pockets they are not leggings.  They feel like my pajamas.  I searched the web for a denim pair and found one from Hue for $39.00, which I will buy if I can't find them cheaper.  These were $14.00.  Only pair in my size.  I was happy because I have a pair of red ones that I bought at Ross which by the way I do find things there that are at Macy's sometimes much cheaper and I love that you can get a whole Color Club collection for $7.99.  I predict I will be wearing these pants often.  Pajamas they feel like pajamas.

 

 

Then I stumbled across this little sexy little number and thought I can get away with that.  I've lost about 15 lbs and still going.  I can wear this with some black tights or if it is a little too short I can wear the jeggings with my short boots.  I have a pair of like 5" heels.  I may be forty eight but my feet are in good condition and I still can keep up with my 22 year old daughter when it comes to heels no fear here.  So, I paid $12,00 for this.    I am kind of short.  Like 5'4"  so I will have to see how low that left side goes.

 

 

So, a girl needs some accessories like shoes, and shoes and more shoes and more shoes.  So, I really wanted another pair of Uggs.  So, I bought the chestnut shorty because my calves are kind of on the big side which make my legs look great with high heels in dress but damn hard to find boots that come to the knee and the tall ones since they are flat would make me look really short so make up for it by getting the short ones.  Price $155.00

 

 

I meant to show you my pink uggs when I got them but forgot.  So here they are.  They are cute because they tie in the back.  I like them.  One of my first posts is my denim Uggs.  I was scared to show a manicure so I showed the Uggs first. 

 

 

 

Got my Toms.  Gotta have Toms and these ones are really nice they are wool and have almost the same lining in the back that the Uggs have inside nice and comfy.  Oh, prices.  These were $53.95

 

 

I know the uggs and toms were expensive but the money I saved on the clothes, I still came out alright. 

 

 And to top things off.  I went to a Charming Charlies.  I had never been there.  They have cute things.  I found two to top things off.  Can you guess what it is?  That's right hats.  $14.95 each.

 

 

 

So, that is about it for this month.  Basic wardrobe items.  Next month.  I go for colorful items.  If you like to see haul videos or don't please vote in the pole.  So, I will never do this again or if you just want to see nail polish hauls for the month I can do that too.  I realized that I like to see other people's stuff or find out about a good bargain not to scrutinize.  I am also not doing this to say oh, look what I have.  It is just more of I feel a bargain sharing post.  So, I hope you like it and if you don't please comment.  I have gotten some derogatory ones but hey I don't care I can tell by the way it is written it is written by someone very young and I am past all that so I am open to any type of criticism.

October Favorites

October was a LONG month and I ended up ordering a lot of nail polish.  I also found out that they sell Ciate` at Nordstrom.  I love their polish.  I won two giveaway.  YAY!  But it was really hectic and to be honest I really am not crazy about the upcoming two months. Thanksgiving is always weird.  Most of the time we go out to eat.  Xmas is bad because my family is Catholic and I am Jewish and it is just weird.  I won't be at the mall anymore,  I have to shop at weird times and so many times stores put up items I like to buy to make room for Xmas decorations.  I look to October and think of my favorite things mainly my favorite polish Essie Rae and IHeart Pretty Polish suggested that we do our October Favorites.  So, we are going to make this a monthly thing it will be things we review during the month. 

5.  My fifth favorite thing this month is that I started polish of the day.  I did a poll and it was really close but a lot of people wanted to see swatches and I thought of course.  When I am going to buy a polish I look for a swatch of the polish if there isn't one.  So, now you can look to see if I ever did it plus it will show up on a search on the Internet.  I also try to post then newest polishes I get so those who read it can see if they like it or not.   And you all know I always tell you where to buy and how much it cost.

4.  My fourth favorite is polish is Butter London's Shag.  I love this color because you can wear it year around and it looks good on any skin color.

 

3.  My third favorite is Fairy Lights from butter London.  It is just so girly when I wear it I feel so feminine and the formula is just so great.

2.  My second favorite might be a surprise but I really love OPI's "You're a Doll".  It is just so soft and pretty.  It looks like the nail polish an angel would be wearing.

1.  My number one favorite this month has to be Deborah Lippman's  Cleopatra in New York.  It a beautiful jelly black base that has gold glitter.  It is just absolutely love this color.  Everyone should have it.

Polish of Day 26 Yummy Yummy Butter London

This is another neutral that I absolutely love.  it has  a shimmer that just could not be caught on film.  I really hate that.   But I am loving this color.  I see being able to wear it a week.  I can usually get a weeks worth of wear from a polish if I polish correctly and in this case I did so the tips won’t turn white.  I wear polish about two days.  Then freshen with Seche Vite after two days I stamp and wear three more days.    KISS.  This polish is perfect for a week’s worth of wear.  I have a tip I remember from the old days.  We did not have Seche Vite so dry time was always at least half an hour to an hour.  What we used to do is wait around five minutes then stick your hands in a bowl of ice water the longer you keep them in the faster they dry.   If you have a polish that you really love but it takes a while to dry even with Seche Vite try the ice water bowl.  I know just the polish I am going to try it on.

Polish of Day 24 Color Club Revvolution

Color Club Revvolution is another much loved polish by many polish aholics.  It is a back hologram.  It is a beautiful polish and the formula is absolutely wonderful.  I am half way done with my bottle and will definitely have to get another bottle it kind of of settles my craving for OPI’s Private Jet.   I love the way this polish dries and I can stamp with this one, so another plus.  This is from the alter ego line there are other colors in the line that are just as beautiful as this one.  I looked on the internet and they have the whole set on sale transdesign for under $30.00.   Don’t confuse it with the current line of holo’s they have on sale right now.  They are sold out of most of the colors.  eBay has most of the line on sale for $5.75  free shipping. 

 

So, what do you think about this color.  I think it also is a good alternative to just a black crème.

Kimber’s Challenge Day 24 Inspired by a book

Well this was a hard one my absolute favorite book is Interview with a Vampire by Anne Rice and then it has to be Faust by Johann von Goethe.  Both have very demonic themes and I just couldn’t think of how to do Faust and with Interview I did not feel there were enough objects to be able to really capture a good grip of the story.  So, right now  I am reading Anne Rice’s The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty.  I actually just finished it and have started the second book.  Sleeping Beauty has always been my favorite Disney princess.  I just loved her innocence and the three little fairy,  Flora, Fauna and Merriweather.  Well in this book I thought since Anne Rice wrote the book the prince would kiss her and she would become a vampire.  Nope.  He woke her with a kiss and a lot more.  Poor Beauty(that is what they call her in the book)she has no fairies to protect her.  She has no one and has been taken to the castle of the Prince to be a love slave.  She must endure both physical and sexual torture but when I talk about sexual torture I mean that if she is “in the mood”  she will be teased to a point and then all will stop.  She has a lot of sexual tension.  At night when she sleep she sleeps chained to the bed so she won’t escape and is paddled often at the end of the first book we see Beauty being taken to a place called the Village in a wooden cart and a place that it is forbidden to talk about in the book.  This book sets the ground rules and what life in the palace is like this second book IA already filled with intrigue and it is really hard for me to put it down when I am reading it.  So here is the manicure I came up with for this book.

It is really messy but I really did the best I could.  This has been the hardest challenge because emotions or thoughts are sometimes very hard to put into a picture for me.  Ask me to write about them and I will write you a book .

Kimber wrote the top part about the hurricane survivors.  I want to say.  I know exactly what it is like I have lived through several and notice I said lived.  During Hurricane Ike we came together as a community.  If we had a barbeque pit and someone's matches wouldn't light we let them cook their food on our pit.  I know that sounds stupid but it is little things like that help us survive.  I am just saying that if you have something that you can help someone out with please do it.  Come together as a community.

Polish of Day 23 Forget You Deborah Lippman

I picked this up after I accidently got 2 Cleopatra in New York’s.  I like the polish I put it on Friday and then went to dinner with my sister.  I woke up in the morning and took these pictures at around 3:00 pm.  The formula was good it did not make a big glittery mess.  clean up was a breeze but what I did not do was paint on the tips I painted to the tips but did not do that across the top and you can tell by the morning that the ends seem to be coming off.  I could have done that but I do paint my nails every day so it was time to go anyway but It is a beautiful black polish with tons of multicolored glitter.   I do want to go ahead and get Happy Birthday also because it is similar to this one.  But it is not #1 on my need to have list.

First Autumn Water Marble

My first fall water marble.  So excited.  I ended up using all the colors from the china glaze On Safari. Lots of people are scared of water marbling but you don'[t have to be.   If you are new to marbling start out with cremes that highly pigmented with filtered or drinking water.  I use a glass that isn't so big and you don't need to use white as a base.  Use the lightest color in your marbling on. You can tape your fingers that way you don't make a mess all over your fingers.  I use my cotton claw to clean my fingers.

Polish of the Day 22 Ik-A-Body China Glaze

Happy Halloween,
The closest I come to Halloween is this color here by China Glaze.  I won it in an auction for like $2.00 after Halloween.  So, Thursday will be a good day to do some Halloween shopping everything will be fifty percent off.  Ik-A-Body is a glitter polish, it has a black base with black and orange glitters.  I like orange alot and was just drawn to it and did wear it after Halloween.  If it matches what you are wearing it is fine.

Peacock Feathers

 

 

 

Peacocks.  Beautiful birds with some of the most beautiful colors I've ever seen.  I remember our neighbors had two of them and somehow they would always get out of their yard and end up in ours.  They ended up donating the peacocks to the zoo.  People want to have exoctic pets but it is really hard to keep them.  Regular vets don't really know how to take care of them so if you are thinking of taking on an exoctic pet talk to a vet to ensure that your exotic pet will have the proper medical care and if they won't put them on your fingers.

 

I used Orly Haley's Comet and stamped using BM 212 and used Maybelline Color show in Bold Gold for Stamping.  Then used Klean Color metallic green to fill in dots in the pattern.  Hope you like.

 

 

 

 

 

This is really easy to do and it looks really pretty.  Oh, another thing, you know how I always say keep it simple stupid.  I am going to abbreaviate that to KISS.  I saw it somewhere it is less derogitory.

I am telling you something is up

Unless you have been living under a bottle of nail polish you know don't know about the storm hitting New York.  As a believer in 12/12/12 hold on for more bad weather.  In Texas we are in hurricane alley.  I was watching Dancing with the Stars.  Brooke Burke was saying we are with you make sure you make use of your votes.  I laughed and said, "Bitch have you ever been in a hurricane?"  We'll I have been in several and there are no lights, no tv, shitty food, stinky people, and you don't give a crap about using dancing with the stars.  Hurricane Ike, Alan, Beulah, and Alice are the big ones I have gone through.  Then there was hurricane Rita where we were forced to evacuate because of the tragedy of Katrina.  My husband had to stay to protect his business from loiters.  I was going to my mother in law's  in Dallas with my best friend.  Then came the Thelma and Louise moment.  My friend, Carla tells me she has a gun.  I rolled  eyes ask if it is registered to her.  she said to her father.  Ok, I am thinking then comes the big question.  Is the safety on?  Now, she is nervous, I don't know and starts to cry saying we are going to be two girls out alone on the road people are going to want to steal our food, our gas and even our car and she had been watching the news and was scared.  I thought ok.  She said she did not know if it was loaded or if the safety was on.  She says you know how to use a gun.  I was like yeah, but they guys always loaded it and put the safety on.  I was just hoping she would not freak out at some point.  I had a gun pulled on me twice working with CPS but I just remained calm and left I never pulled a gun on someone.  So, I just said let me see the gun.  I saw where the safety was and put it on and it was not loaded.  I didn't tell her that and made her promise she wtould not pull the gun and freak out.  We moved two miles in four hours and decided to head south.  It wasa nightmare.  There was no gas, no food, nothing for miles.  No place to go to the bathroom.  I remember she peed in a pickle jar.  We hit an hour away from Brownsville.  we stopped ate, got gas and I got a 24 ounce beer.  We got stuck in Brownsville for five days of which we turned into a mini vacation. 
But right now we have a town where a hurricane has not hit in 140 years.  I hope they were prepared because it is no walk in the park whether you stay or evacuate.  keep and eye on the weather I predict we will see a lot of irregular patterns in the weather.

Polish of day 21 butter London Stag do

I got this last week and almost forgot I had it. This polish looks beautiful in the bottle but don't expect not get that same shimmer on your nails for some reason it just turns to a crème. I don't know if maybe once a little more polish has been used the gold flecks will start to show but just the way it is I see nothing. The formula is like butter and it dries really fast like all other butter London's but I was disappointed with the way the polish transfers from the bottle to the nails. Even as a crème it is pretty though.             Do you see any gold flecks in this polish?
