Polish of Day 30 Essie’s Don’t Sweater it

This is one of the two colors I got from Essie’s Fall line.  It reminds me of  the ever popular Metro Chic from OPI for Sephora.  I wore that polish almost everyday for a month.  Until my daughter told me maybe I should change it.  I just really liked it.  I haven’t really worn this one yet.  I have a lot that I have not worn but I am getting there.  That is kind of why I am doing this is that sometimes I get polish leave it in the box get more polish and leave that in a box.  One of my best friends from back home is moving not far from here and will be staying with me for about a week or two so I don’t know how that is going to affect my posts.  I know I will still do polish of the day but the nail art that I love to do might be kind of thin.  I have several mani’s that I have worn and do have those saved so I will be able to show that.  Who knows I might get  a hand model for while.  We’ll see what happens.  The holidays are coming and to be honest it is the worst time of the year for me.  I hate it.  I just want to go in a closet cover myself up and sleep until it is over.  It is already starting so I know this year is going to be a lot of tears and a lot of hiding out but that is just a part of my life for the last twenty years when I converted.  So, I just ask that you all just stick with me because I love doing this blog so  much  if I didn’t do it I would be in therapy twice a week and not be able to work on my book.  So, if a post sounds a little down I might just be having a bad day if it sounds good that means I was in therapy that day.  I guess I am just going to try and not sweater it.










It is like taupe with a hint of purple in it.  It has no shimmer it is just a really pretty crème.  Very neutral but on the cool side so it is very appropriate for the winter months ahead.  CC

Polish of day 31 Essie’s Your Place or Mine

I really like these types of colors,  they grow on me and what I really like Is that I get two for one on this.  I wear it for a couple of days then stamp and wear it a couple more days.  I am no changing polish as much unless I am just doing a swatching day.  Right now my cuticle are raw so I am really glad I took these pictures otherwise you’d be looking at some nasty cuticles.  I’ve just been trying to get on a decent sleep schedule and sometimes I forget my lemony flutter with gloves.  So, now I am just going to sleep 1/2 an hour earlier so I can get my sleep under control.  A lot of people just don’t understand sleep apnea and it is just so bad sometimes it literally rules your life but it is getting better but any change in schedule an ruin all the work you’ve done.  So, your place or mine it looks prettier in person as most polishes do.  It is a corally pink.  It is darker than it photographed.

Polish of Day 29 Victoriana by Butter London

I chose this color because I really like the name I know it is Victoriana but I just think of Victoria.  I think it is a beautiful name.  Being Hispanic you have to be careful with what names you chose for your children especially girls.   Now this is just the way I think.  It comes a lot from my mother who chose to name me Patricia.  Everyone just calls me Patty for short but when I speak to people in Spanish or introduce myself to them I introduce myself as Patricia the name sounds good either way in English or Spanish and Victoria is one of those names.  My mom even named my sister something that sounds good in English and Spanish.  I had never thought about that.  I won't say what it is because I need to respect their privacy.  My baby sister got stuck with a really different name.  She has wondered why her sometimes but we can't do any thing our parent choose for us until we are adults and when you think of it as a parent there are a lot of things you control in your children's lives.  I tried to let my kids make certain decisions but I don't know they seem to be happy but my boys are not as successful as my daughter.  I just pounded it into her head she needed at least one college degree because she wasn't like her brothers who could go work in construction or just open a lawn service and make good money.  I told her those jobs were for men and yes women can do it but it is hard and dominated by men.  I am proud to say she will be graduating next year and will be pursuing her masters after that.  Neither one of my sons have done that and I do feel guilty for not pushing them as hard as I did my daughter but kids don't come with a manual.  My mom told me the only reason I should go to college was to find a man who was going to be a doctor or lawyer and marry him.  I thought to myself no, I want to BE a lawyer but never told her.  So,  I'll just say the name Victoria is really beautiful and holds a special place in my heart and that is all I am going to say.
I think I got this polish from Ulta and it was a little think so I did put some thinner in it.  I thought it was a glitter but it isn't.   It is a shimmer and I would even call it a neutral because it seems to go with anything.  I wore it for 2 1/2 whole days.  Yeah, and you know that thing about the clean cuticles.  Sometimes my cuticles feel ripped so I do what I did back in the day.  Take a long hot shower and scrub my head really good.  I have that Lush's Ro's Argan and when I put that on I rub it in my hands and viola clean cuticles without acetone or anything harsh.

So, I think the cuticles look pretty good except maybe the thumb.  So, I'll be doing that more often.

Polish of day. 28. Sweet Peacock

This is a polish I have been wanting for a while but then I would be drawn to something else .  I is going to be a good Chanukah  color.  I always wear blue or silver during that time.  This one is from Orly and I haven't been able to sing Orly's praises enough.  Great polish .  Great price and more for your money.

Is there a particular color you wear more during the holidays?

Polish of day 27 a-England NH-8

Today the blogging community is saying no to bullying.  I can't say that I have been bullied  because I know the person  leaving the remarks.  When I say know them I mean I know the profile better than she thinks and I will only leave a broad description because saying more might offend.  She is a young girl between the age of 18-25.  I know that by something she said.  She is still in school.  Good for her, I have strong beliefs that a woman NEEDS to have some type of degree.  She was bullied at one time in her life but overcame by possibly a school move or family move.  So, she had a fresh start and immediately acted out and started to bully and now it is just a part of who she is.  How do I know this, you don't spend 20 years of your life evaluating people, it does flow into your personal life.  I feel sorry for this person and if she gets a laugh out of something I may say.  I am just glad I could entertain her and she if feels that her comments hurt me, they don't because behind those comments is a little girl in pain.  

I almost feel this should be a day of compassion but some people really over do it and do hurt others. Some people get really hurt.  In the last year 2 children have killed themselves because of bullies.  That should never happen.  We do need to stand together and say no.  No more.

Polish of Day 26 Bubble Tea By PrettyNPolished

The polish I am showing you today is Bubble Tea from Pretty N Polished.  You can now buy these polishes at prettynpolished.com.  they opened their store today so they should be pretty well stocked.  They have their own website now.  I am pretty  sure this polish is still available.   I used OPI Stranger Tides as panties and then two coats of the polish.  It went on really well and dried pretty fast.  I like this polish because it is a year round polish.  So, go to the website and see what is new.  I will be there.

The rest of the Skyfall Collection Warning PIC Heavy

 

This is Casino Royale.  It is definitely a blue red.  Goes on great and no problems with the formula.

 

 

 

This one is Live and Let Die.  It is a dark green.  It reminds me of Here today Aragon tomorrow but this one has gold flecks in it.   It is an amazing color and the first picture shows it some justice.

 

 

 

Goldfinger.  Beautiful.  It does take three coats to get an opaque color but it is gorgeous.  Possibly my favorite of all.

 

 

 

 

This one is The Spy Who loved me.  it is an orange red and reminds me of something a younger girl might use as her first polish.  It is a crème and did not appear to have any flecks of gold merely a shimmer.

The Living Daylights.  I was most excited about this one.  I really like the way it looks alone and would look great in a jelly sandwich.  It has orange, teal, blue, gold, and silver glitters.

 

 

 

This one is You Only Live Twice.  Looking at it from the outside it looks like The One That Got Away, but once you put it on it is very different because it has more red undertones and does have some gold shimmer to it.

 

 

 

 

This one is Tomorrow Never Dies.  The bottle is purple but it photographed blue.  I did not understand and took several pictures but it still came out this color. 

 

 

The World is Not Enough is the name of this one.  At first It looks a little weird but after some time it does begin to grow on you.

 

 

 

And the last one is The Spy Who Loved Me.  Red with gold flecks.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Well, that is pretty much the whole collection.  It really seemed huge as a I was doing all the swatching.  My only problem with it is that is has three reds.  I knew that going in I just wish they were a little bit more different.
