Are you going to see Spiderman

I have to admit I have never seen the spiderman movies or read the comic books.  I just never saw how his powers could ever equal superman.  So, ask me about superman and I can tell you anything even come out with a line of nail polish.  I don't know if there is a lizard in the movie that is after spiderman or if as in live lizards eat spiders and that is why they name one of the OPI nail colors Spotted by a Lizard the color is really pretty but as you have probably heard a dupe for Chanel's periodot.  So, if there is an Lizard villian in the movie and you want to support him you can wear something like this.

Of course I used OPI's spotted by a lizard and my DRk-A plate.

If you are the romantic  and look forward to Spiderman getting the girl then you can wear something like this.

This is your web or mine and again I used my DRK-A plate and a spider from the bundle monster set 1 plate 5.

So, which ever way you go if you go see the movie enjoy it.

Caio for now.

Last night I got my Lynderellas

This is love, lilacs and lace and I think you have to be a really girly girl to wear this if you are not into really feminine looks this might not be for you.   I tried it over other colors and just could not get a feel for it to be it is best worn solo.  And here it is.

Do you think they are too girly?  Would you wear this color?

Grafitti Nails

Over the weekend while my husband forced me to eat and drink what seems like a gallon of water,  I knitted and then felt like I had been away from the polish world way too long.  I felt withdrawal so, I started to go through a whole bunch of flyers I had and saw these on a sephora add.  I think they are really neat and most of all totally dummy proof.  You can't screw them up.  I used just a regular black polish and five of my metallic Klean color nails.  place a droop of each different color of polish on a piece of paper, then dip the polish with a toothpick down or across the nail alternating colors.   I put a top coat but it did not look right so I used Essence special top coat.  That is some really good stuff it is cheap and a great matte coat and believe me I have tried a lot of high end brands and I like this one the best.  So, save your money and get some of this stuff.  I buy mine at ulta.

out of pocket

Sorry no posts for a day or two . Got extreme
dehydration. It is hot in Tx. and was in hospital. I should know better and drink an electrolye drink once a day but it always takes that stipid hospital stay to remind me that i am more vulnerable because of a medication I take. Hope to get some stuff out tomorrow. I finally got three of my Lynderellas.
Ciao for now.

The Color That Started My Obsession

Hello,
I hope if you got to prettynpolished restock you were able to get something.  I got party on my yacht, dakota, and the yellow one for gemini but it was a mini.  I am not disappointed though.  On Monday, KB Shimmer will have her opening at her own shop.  her website is kbshimmer.com.  You can see the polishes that will be going up for sale.  She also has a successful line of soaps, balms and bombs.  but her polishes are amazing.  I am definitely going to try to get Vegas Bomb.  you can see it on her facebook page.  So all that excitement happens you on Monday.
A couple of weeks ago their was a giveaway which no on won since no one entered.  I know it wasn't the greatest giveaway but it was something.   In a lot of these giveaways if you don't know something just skip it and you just don't get one  point you still get others.  I don't have an index that shows my stash or what giveaways there are.  but I blog about them on my blog.  please, don't think you can't win I won a give away Erika at polish fixation.com had.  I love it.  So, if I am telling you of a giveaway, I am also entering it and it is random.
Ok, now the color that made me stop the the crazy obsession to only have acrylics with black nail polish.  it is................OPI's  Lincoln Park After Dark.  It is still a winner.  As I was doing inventory, I found it and was just so happy.  I still love this color.  It is still a regular with opi so you can get it anytime.  I don't know anyone who did not have this color so today, I thank Lincoln
  Park .

Here she is..so pretty.
Well, Caio for now,
Patty

Polished and Pretty

Today, I am so excited because I am going to swatch my Pretty&Polished haul I purchased at the last restock on Etsy.  And Great News Chelsea is restocking again tomorrow at 8:00pm EST!  I am so excited because there were a couple of polishes I still wanted and now after such a short time I get a chance to buy some more.  Yay!!!!!!

I will give you a little bit of advice on getting what you want.  Got to the polished & pretty website on esty on the left there is a section that states sales and it will show you a list of their sales you can add them to your favorites and then when the restock opens you’ve got exactly what you want right there.  These polishes are great, they dry great, the price is right, and no one else has them.  So you can be the envy of all your friends or if you are like me spread the word and make it more beautiful one nail at a time.  Well wasn't that corny.  I sounded like some air head beauty queen answer her final elimination question.  Just check this out or any other line that suits your fancy.

a-England Bridal Veil

This is bridal veil the black holo of the mythical collection.  It goes on smooth and usually one coat is enough.  The whole line is great.  I love this line.  I just ordered Order of the Garter and I am really looking forward to getting it.  I wore this so I could post it on the a-England website.  Bridal Veil is the color of the month.  apparently they do this every month but I just found out, so I will be following them on facebook to continue to get some exposure to get more followers.  so,  I am going to do my blue monday mani for tomorrow.
caio for now sweeties,
Patty

Butter London Blagger

Have you ever wanted something and for some reason just did not buy it?  It’s not that you did not have the money or that you just bought something else.  Well that is what has been going on with me and this polish.  I always wanted it but for some reason, I’d buy something else and I don’t know why.  Now that I have it I think I have learned a lesson and decided that if I really want something and can afford it, it is ok to just buy it.  I love this color,  I loved the consistency of the polish and I got so many compliments and it is just a blue, but the thing about this blue that it is like the sky meeting the ocean.  I reminds me of the color that appears at around 4:00pm on a sunny day on a boat in the ocean.  I just looked at that polish and it took me there and it was the first time I wore it…  Sometimes you wear a polish that takes to somewhere but not because of the color but because you wore it when you were in a certain place.  I salute the person who came up with this color if it can get that type of reaction out of me.  I actually bought this on Amazon for $14.00 no shipping charges.which is how much it costs anywhere else.  I asked my doctor if I spend too much time at home, since I write out of home and order everything I can on the net.  He said I was actually pretty smart.  I avoid crowds, ensure I am going to get what I want and save money on gas.  So, which ever way you like to shop, it’s cool just as long as you shop smart.  Is there anything that you want but have been avoiding buying for no reason at all?
Ciao for now,
Patty

Smart and Stupid Beauty Products I Have Used

I think at some time or another we have made some bad beauty product buys and some good ones. I'll start with the worst one. Last year my husband and I went to California and Las Vegas. I knew it was going to be so hot in Vegas I would be melting. So, I went on YouTube to find out what a good primer would be. Everyone said monistat chafing cream. Yes, the stuff you put on your who-ha. It supossedly had the same consistansy as Smashbox primer. I bought the Monistat and it did have the same consistency. I started using it and by the time I got home I had the worst case of cystic acne, it wasn't funny. Here I am 47 years old with acne like a teenager. I had never had cystic acne. It was so bad it burned and I would not leave home. I tried everything till finally my sister, who is a nurse was able to get me some medicine for it and it went away. The cleanser that did help for me was a Neutrogena acne cleanser with 2% salycic acid that soothes and cools.  I was telling my daughter about this ordeal and she said "that's what you get for putting something that goes on your vag on your face, Mom."  The only positive thing that happened was I discovered Revlon stay the day makeup since I did not want to use my MAC because I would have to use SO much of it..  I could not use a sponge or my makeup brush to put on my makeup be cause it would tear one of the scabs of my face and then it would start bleeding and turn into a mess.  I was forced to put my makeup with my hands. and found it was ok I just made sure my hands were freshly washed.  I liked the way my skin looked better and have thrown the sponge and brush to the bottom of on of my makeup baskets.  you see when you rub the makeup on your skin on youra hands it liquifies due to the heat your hands and face have naturally and it spreads easier.  So, something good came of that.
Now, I highly recommend Lush's cuticle butter. It works great. A plastic surgeon told me that one thing women do wrong is they get a facelift or botox but do nothing for their hands, so if you are at that age of thinking about botox talk to your MD about your hands if you feel they look older than they should.  I am pretty lucky.  I am 48 and I think my hands look pretty good and I really don't have any wrinkles.  I can only attribute that to good genes on both sides of my family both my parents are 72 and no where look their age. Well, back to the Lush cuticle butter.  Even though it is called lemony flutter and does taste pretty good. (I know because I have tasted it.)  Don't put it on your bagel.  If you are not familiar iwth the Lush line. Almost everything is vegan and they have just wonderful products.  You can order from their website the only thing you can't order is the face masks since they need to be refrigerated.   I also put that sleep lotion by bath and body works on my hands with cotton gloves that I buy at Sally's for two dollars.  I can think of a few ways to inappropriately use cotton gloves but leave that to the imagination.  My hands feel great in the morning.
Now the next really stupid thing I did was put those plug in feathers in my hair but no one told me they should only stay on fora few days and then put them on again a week or so later. No, I wore them for weeks at a time taking them out and putting them on over and over again. I think I have lost 40% of my hair. Right now it is just growing out and It looks so weird.  To top that off I bought a wet dry flat iron that fried my hair.  I had really nice hair.  It is straight and used to bounce and shine now.   I cant even say what it looks like the only good thing is that my hair grows fast and I don't have to go to a job every day where I have to style it.  My hair is getting no heat at all just cotton headbands and LOTS of conditioner.  So thank you for letting me sound off and maybe help someone.  I am writing this as experiences I have had if you have had a beauty catastrophe and want to share please do that is what we blog for so that we don't waste our money or ruin any of the beauty we all have on the outside and on the inside.
Well, caio for now,
Patty

Goldie taking a nap

Sunday we took Goldie all over town. She was really cute with her little green sun dress but when she got home she struggled to get to her water bowl then went and got on my chair and crashed. She looks so cute. I had to snap these pictures.

Black Lace

I wore these the other night to dinner with my husband. Nice dinner, nice company but really nice to get home. I used fast track from China Glaze, stamped with smoke and ashes from China Glaze and a top coat of essence special top coat. It has become my favorite because it es a soft matte and you can't beat the price.

Grasshopper by Darling Diva

This polish is a favorite of many and it is gorgeous.  Hard to photograph because it is very shimmery although you can't tell that in the bottle.  It is pretty sheer so it is a 3-4 coater.  I put it on alone and then with Nubar kiwi as a base mainly for photography purposes.  So here it is alone.

And here it is with Nubar Kiwi as a base

Celery Stalk Indie Polish by paris sparkles

Today I have celery stalk by paris sparkles.  it does sparkle some but not so much.  I has a consistency of something like a milk shake but spreads really well and dry time is pretty good.   This was a polish that had been on my favorite on Etsy for weeks so I finally decided to take the plunge and purchase and not sorry at all. I really like it.  I would recommend if you have it on your favorites at etsy, purchase it.   Everyone knows how it goes there one minute a polish is available the next it is gone......Till the next restock.

Nars. And a small giveaway

I must admit I am starting to buy some more expensive polish. I used to buy Chanel and Lancôme but then started getting French manicures for the next 8 years. Then the spell was broken with.......You' just have to wait til Saturday. What do you think it is? Just a hint it is an opi from around 2006-2007. If anyone can guess it I'll send you a $15.00 iTunes card. Well, I have to say Nars night ranger is just a beautiful forest green with gold flecks. I loved the consistency of the formula and I am looking to buy another bottle as soon as I can. I got a great deal on this one off eBay. I'll be checking later for special deals. I went a little crazy with Pretty and Polishes re-stock, so I must let my funds rise again. Here it is night ranger. And don't forget this sudden giveaway I'll post the answer and picture june 10, 2012 around 12:00 pm ST.

Gradients

Everyone is doing gradients right now so last night I jumped on the band wagon and messed around with it using "The Sammy Method". Then I kinda thought to myself this is so easy Sammy deserves a Lot of credit. I remember a couple of weeks ago when a certain nail polish company got their panties in a wad because certain bloggers were calling their manicures caviar manicures. So, maybe Sammy should trademark her method before certain companies come out with these little kits for gradient nails. The new black company has come out with newspaper nails. Those have been around for as long as I can think. I really don't know how this happened, but I could see a little kit put out by the true owner of the method in stores. Easy Gradient Nails by Sammy has a nice ring to it. What do you think?
