Beatlemania Blackbird

I wanted to do some nails based on the songs of the Beatles.  The reason I picked these two patterns was because the song says, " blackbird singing in the dead of night".  So, I found an image with birds and then the other image of course are music notes.  When we went to Vegas we got to see the Love Show (it is from cirque de soleil and plays nothing but the songs of the Beatles).   I've seen alot of great shows.  This was the BEST!!!!!  Everyone watching the show was singing  and having a great time.  I was mesmerized the performers actually fly right at you.  There is so many cool things going on, it is great.  If you love the Beatles and are planning a trip to Vegas you must see this show.  It is playing at Cesar's and it doesn't matter where you sit.  We had nosebleed seats and bought them because the person selling us the tickets said that is the best place to sit because the performers fly so closely over you.  If I go to Vegas again.  I will go see it again.  So I hope you like this.
I'd really like some feedback or comments.  There is a box at the bottom of this post and all you have to do is check a box.  I know sometimes righting comments can be a drag but checking a box is pretty easy.  I need some feedback from those who read the posts or just look at the pictures it will help me either keep on doing what I am doing or change my format somehow.  So, please just check a box.  It would mean a lot to me.

a-England

Yesterday, I got a little package. Inside was a-England's Excalibur. It is so pretty I did not even want to stamp it and didn't. I loved reading the stories of the Knights of the Round Table. The men were so chivalrous and the women were such damsels and Guinevere's hair riding in the woods. Her secret love with Lancelot. They just don't make men like that anymore. So here is Excalibur, silver like the name of the sword Arthur, before he bcame king, was taken out of the stone.

So, have any of you tried a-England's nail polish and if you have which color is your favorite?

Flintsones Meet the Flintstone

Yaba daba do.  It is hump day.  The look I have today was inspired by the Flintsones when I saw my new bundle monster plates I knew exactly what it reminded of me.  I started with OPI’ s  Wooden Shoe LIke to Know.  It really is a beautiful color and let’s face it OPI formulas are loved by almost everyone I know.

Then I used bundle monster plates bundle monster plate BM 313 and BM 325.  If you look closely you can see the flecks of gold in it. I really like it a lot more than I thought I would and got a lot of use out of it.

Now the reason I chose this is because it reminds me of the streets on the Flintstone show and the quarry where Fred worked.  His feet running to get the car going.  Now,  if you could see my husband’s feet he has Fred Flintstone  He used to hate his feet.  Let’s face it a lot of people have ugly feet.  In the 80’s there was a movie with Eddie Murphy and Halle Berry where Eddie Murphy would not go out with a girl unless she had perfect feet.  I know some people who have a real  foot fetish.  You know who you are.  I only notice feet that do look really scraggly.  So check out these feet.  I snapped while he was snoozing on the couch.  Is that bad?  What are your thoughts on feet?

Shape shifter. Lynderella

Ok, at the risk of getting stoned, I am going to admit, I am not crazy about this one why? It is gritty over shiny and t nought I was going to cut my fingers just touching the top. I think I will work it a little and see what I can do with it. . I wore it over different colors and try to get it to work some how. If not, I will more than likely make it disappear.  As it is unless you are really rich Lynderella is no longer affordable for me.  I saw a bottle go on sale on ebay for like $70.00.  That is crazy and I did see the seller was Lynderalla.  Her polish is nice but there are a lot of other indies who are doing some of the things she is doing.  I really don't know what happened between Llarowe and Lynderlla but it might have been a bad mood.  I know I ordered four polishes and when the invoice came in I felt some pressure to pay like now.  I had sent a wish list in sometime in February got the invoice I think in May and then didn't even get the polish till June.  I am just not willing to do business with a company like that.  I wish Ms.. Lynderalla all the prosperity in the future but if her prices are going to anything more than $26.00, the same price as Chanel, I won't buy.  I haven't bought any Chanel polish because I haven'[t seen anything I absolutely love.  I did just buy my first two Illamasqua's lastt week and did spend $25.00 on two of the Ciate Manicures.  I did not know about the little microbeads when I bought them and I know that the nail community is not buying them but in the near future I am going to show them.  So here is shape shifter, maybe I can put it in a molcajete.   For those who don't have grandmothers who make this really hot salsa in them it is just a mexican morter and pestil.

Here she is.

What do you think about this polish?  Would you pay $40.00-$60.00 for a bottle of this?

Polish Room

When I was a little girl I had my own room and in my room it was decorated with all my dolls, dollhouses, doll clothes and shoes.  I loved shoes even as a little girl.  My room pretty much stayed the same until I was in the fifth grade when I started to like music.  Then It was Peter Frampton all over the place.  I remember the first time I heard Frampton Live I knew I would be a rock chick forever.  Even in my earlier years I used to love to watch the Rolling Stones, Doors and of course my favorite the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show but by the time I was around twelve there were no Doors or Beatles just the music they left behind.  Hppie culture was dying but it was still underground.  Disco was king and now that I am older I admit I like disco,  but always rocker at heart.  There was a local band and I was a real groupie.  Just like the movies, hotels after gigs, lots of liquor, drugs and sex.  I had my guy,  I only partook in the liquor part.  There was a lot of fighting.  Rooms getting trashed, and some daring shit going on. It got to a point where it wasn't fun anymore and I knew someone was going to die.  I broke up with my boyfriend and a couple of weeks later one of the band members died in a bad car  accident.  The band is still together and when they come to town it is nice to see the guys and talk about old times, but we are older now and some of the guys are bald,  Somehow, we all turned out alright.  Most of us went to college and graduated and have been in successful careers.  Some left and we have no idea where they are like my boyfriend.  I know he lives in Houston but I have no idea where he is.  I hope he is well and not dead.  So,  being out so much I really didn't care what my room looked like.  After the groupie scene, I started hanging out at the beach a lot.  My room took quite a turn after that.  I had fish nets, shells buoys all over the place.  My room became a boat.  Then I got married and if you are a newlywed or remember being one, it seems like most of our furniture comes from relatives homes.  I have been married to my current husband for ten years in August.  It seems like just yesterday and our furniture is what we picked together.  We have a spare room and I decided to turn it into a polish and knitting room.  It is still a bedroom so I can take an afternoon siesta like I often need during the day.  It is not finished because I need to get more shelves and inventory but it is really coming along,  so I just wanted to give you a peak into my space.

Polish I need to inventory so I can shelve.

All OPI's

Shelves I got at Ikea.  Need to get some more.

This will be the desk to do stamping and painting

The left is a Zoya stand that I bought on Ebay cheap and next to it is the elctropop[ collection from China Glaze).  If you order your polish from Transdesign alot of times they have the display unit that comes with it.

It is funny how i got this one.  I was at  Ulta and they had about three of these stacked up.  I got one and asked if they would sell it to me because when this collection came out it came with 24 bottles instead of twelve.  The girls looked at me like I was crazy and said I could have it and that they usually throw those away.  I was like SCORE!

These are three things I cannot live without when stamping the pink thingy holds cotton so I can wipe my plates when needed.  I use a Konad plastic scraper that does not have a blade so it will not scratch my plates and of course as my neice calls it the polish chair.

This is my practice finger that my husband actually suggested I buy.  I don't always use it but I am starting to as my ideas are becoming more intricate.

So along with all that I have a chest for my yarn and knitting notions a queen size bed and of course a tv.  There is also my treadmill and ab lounger both work very well for drying clothes I don't put in the dryer.  Maybe someday I'll really use them.  till then they are expensive clothes dryers.

I have a theme coming for this week, it is BEATLEMANIA,  So, I am going to do nails inspired by certain songs of the Beatles.  Do you have a favorite song from the Beatles and if you do what is it?
Comments are greatly appreciated.

Ciao and till tomorrow, have a safe night,
Patty

Acknowledgement

As most of you might know by now, Sylvester Stallone's son died last week.  Just joining a group of young people before their time.  I am a BIG Dr. Drew fan and agree when is this going to stop and how.  These pain drugs, Vicodin, Norco and Oxycodone are so addictive,  but they feel so good.  I suffered a severe accident and was on all three of these drugs for two years.  I was addicted and it was horrible.  I could not even get out of bed unless I took them because my body ached but when they hit my body I can imagine that it was much like what a heroin addict feels like when the drug hits their system.  I will tell you how addictive this is.  A friend of mine got a tooth taken out and she called me three days later saying something was wrong.   She was itching and her body ached and thought she was allergic to the antibiotic.  I knew exactly what was wrong.  I told her her body was becoming addicted to the hydrocodone(the main drug in Vicodin, Norco and Oxycodone).  She stopped taking the pills and felt much better.  My detox was pretty hard but luckily doctor assisted with a drug called suboxone.  Sometimes I think that these overdoses happen just because people do not keep up with how many pills they are taking and seeking that morning high which you really don't get again till the next day.  Because I know my body can become easily addicted to opiates,  I need to be careful.  My hospital stay went well and I only took oral medication for three days which my MD was really happy for.  If you or anyone you know is having a problem don't wait talk to your doctor especially about suboxone which curves most withdrawal.

Neon green and yellow gradient

I am really loving neons this year and especially loving doing gradients.  Here is the latest.  I used American Apparel Neon Yellow and Nabi Neon Green for this gradient.  Then I used my DRK-A plate for the design.  Hope you like.

This is an easy manicure.  You don't have to use yellow and green.  I just did because I like yellow.  If you haven't tried doing gradients.  Do them. If you mess them up a little and stamp over them no one can tell.  They are very forgiving when you stamp over them and really look nice.  So, get a couple of colors tonight and try it.  If you come up with something you'd like to show e-mail me and we can post them together on a certain day.  If you'd like to do this comment below and let me know.

Colored Animal Print

I know everyone has done this manicure but I wanted to do it too. So, I did and I want to show it to you. Here it is:

So this manicure was so easy,  I am going to do it in other colors.  I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls.  Used my DRK-A plate and then used a dotting tool to fill in circles.  I've been practicing on using my dotting tools and plan to come up with something using it.  The hibiscus is just there because I took the pictures there and thought the flower was so prettty.  No other reason.

China Glaze On Safari Part II

Here are the rest of the colors from the new China glaze line On Safari.

This one is I' not lion.  A glitter that is pretty matte.  If you want a shine you are going to need a couple of top coats to get a shine.  Still very pretty and verstile for the rest of the line.

This one is I Herd That.  It is a coppery glitter and probably my favorite color of the whole line.  This one too is a matte and needs several top coats to get a shine out of it.

This one is Adventure ready.  A nice read creme which we all probably already have in our collection.   What can I say?  Nothing special.  It should have been in the spiderman line.

This one is prey tell.  I kinda like it for fall but it definitely needs some zuzing up.  Like some gold flakes.  Maybe even a silver flake.

Elephant Walk.  Now this is something different.  Between a gray and a green.  Interesting but needs some time of glitter top.

Call of the Wild.  A deep brown.  A good color for fall a bit boring though but get creative and put something on top of it and maybe it will look ok.

Oh, boy.  this is man hunt.  I want to cry.  I just can't say anything other than it is a blue.

Overall, the line is ok.  Too many of the colors are just dull.  But I just thought I could use them for water marbling.  They might be good for stamping but I bought them and I figure something to do with them.  I give polish away lots of times.  I think I am going to do a give away for my 100th post and kinda wish I could close it just to followers but unfortunately I have to have followers.  I am also trying to get some things that would make a good giveaway.  I don't want to give away anything I would not use myself.
I am also a part of Latina Bloggers and followers sometimes make the difference on whether or not I get a promotional campaign.  I did one and really enjoyed doing it so I am going to have to open the giveaway.  I will let you know more I am lingering at about 90 posts.

China Glaze On Safari Part 1

Here are some swatches of the new collection from China Glaze called On Safari

This is jungle queen a purplish grey.

This one is Kalahari Kiss.  I really like this one is is very neutral and looks like a beige with a little yellow in it.

This one is purr-fect plum a nice plum with some red in it.

This one is desert sun another one of my favorites.  A very light orange with some brownish tones in it.

This is exotic encounters.  I like the color and can see a lot of stamping being done on these nails.

Well, that is part 1 of the series.  I will post the second part tomorrow.  I bought these on Ebay for $30.00.  That roughly comes out to $2.50 a bottle.  You can't beat that price anywhere, that is why I bought the whole collection.  You can find good deals on Ebay just gotta be patient know what you want and search daily.

Patty
