Another Macy’s Haul

This haul is a little different than my last haul because I went to the store looked for bargains did not mull over anything and some stuff will probably go back.   I cannot stand trying clothes on at department stores or anywhere and if the store does not have a policy that I can return something with a receipt and get my money back I won’t buy no matter how much I like it.  I just can’t go into dressing rooms and try things on.  My mother-in-law was like that too and I recently met someone who had the same feelings.  It is not that I phobic.  I just have to wear the garment make sure it doesn’t open in a weird way and make sure it is comfortable.

This is actually a jacket I found at Ross.  I was nail polish hunting last Thursday so we went to Ross.  This is weird and you might not believe me but Goldie loves to go to Ross but I think it is because we always find clothes for her there.  On our way out I saw this and it was 9.99 and thought I can deal with that.  Not too young not too old.   I already wore once.  I just wish I would have had a zebra mani.  I was wearing the Jade Magico.


I got this red sweater because my husband bought me a really pretty one last year and when I had my gall bladder taken out my mother stayed at my apartment and did my laundry.  It wasn’t even in the laundry and I don’t know where she put it and I am sooo mad about that.  I have been searching and I can’t find it.  If I call my mother she will act like she doesn’t know what the hell I am talking about but that sweater was special because my husband bought it for me.  It isn’t even close to being a replacement for me other than it is red.  I had also worn it to last year’s showing of Breaking Dawn Part 1 and planned to wear it this year but I couldn’t because I don’t know where it is.  It is really bugging me.  Like everyday bugging me.


Then I got this sweater hoping it might help me get over the one my husband bought me but no.  It doesn’t.  I still like it though because it’s long will look good with leggings.

This is just a really soft cotton light sweater but see how it is longer on the sides.  It is very forgiving if you have wide hips. 

Ok, this is for the rock-n-roll chick still in me and it was a good bargain.


This is my color haul.  Therapist say depressed people wear too much black and gray so in our DBSA meeting we were given the challenge to wear something that was not black or gray.  I had to go shopping.  That was last year so even though I am not depressed I still needed some color.  Just a plain pink sweater but I love items that I can add m;y own little touches to.   So this fit the bill.



I know it’s gray but I plan to pair this with a pair of winter white pants I have.  That will brighten it.  I think it is ok to wear white in winter but only during the day.



This is like a really neat long sleeve poncho shirt.  The color was there and I thought of all the different nail polishes I could wear with it.  Which made it a winner in my book.


This is an early spring item and it is time to start working on that wardrobe.  I fell in love with this because it is red, white and black a color combination I love.  I can see this in so many ways and since we do live close to the coast we do go out to the beach and it is a perfect little shirt for a boat ride or lunch on the boardwalk. 


Why am I buying a tank like this because it was $4.50.  I can wear it with anything and gets hot in Texas.


Another one?  How cute will this be with white pants or shorts and in early sprint with a cotton sweater.   It was $4.50 also.   I hope it fits.   


I am really on the fence on this one I only took it because the saleslady said,  “Take it home see if you like it, it is only $7.00.”  Not sure even if it $7.00 if I don’t like it why keep it.  I’ll try it.  It is colorful.


Ok, just go with me on this one.  White shorts and beige platform sandals.  I kind of like it.  With a straw hat or no hat.  I find myself wearing more hats lately because the sun is just not like it used to be and even wearing some sun screen.


Something again for summer.  Colorful and $4.50.  I can wear this with anything as long as it fits and the reason I say as long as it fits is because I am kind of big upstairs always have been and sometimes things don’t fit right.

So, this haul came out to be around 200.00 but I had 20% off so it was 160.00.   I ordered my jeggings from Nordstrom's because they are on sale there and I am good on shorts, pants and skirts.  I am telling after this I don’t shop until mid January and all the Xmas stuff is down.  I won’t even shop much online except for polish of course.   So, there is my haul.  What is your Shopping style?

Polish of Day 36 Magica by Jade

This Is a black holo and did I say it is awesome.  I have never been able to take such great pictures, this polish is perfect.   I have the blue one by Jade.  I bought these at Ninja Polish.
I think Llarowe sells it also these colors are really holographic.  it is more of a scattered holo rather than a linear holo.  Application is smooth and dries fast.  I’ll just let you look and the pictures.

Polish of the Day 35 Fishwife by butter London

Ok, I am not only addicted to polish. I am addicted to butter London.  I was on Amazon and was finding all these butter London polishes first this one, then another one, then another one.   My cart was as full as I could allow it to be so I had to go check out.  This one came in first the other two will hopefully be here with my copy of Magic Mike.  If haven’t seen that movie yet, you got to see it just like you got to see this polish.   Light greenish teal holo.  Trustafarian is greener this one has blue in it and some yellow it is gorgeous.  So,  I am happy and ready to order my next two lemming, which are Tramp Stamp (love the name) and Jack the Lad.  But wait something happens.   Scroll down and keep reading.

                                                   

                            

Yeap,  Damn Xmas.  It not only takes the money from the Christians but now they are getting to the Jews.   These are so pretty and I am such a sucker for a neutral.  I don’t know what to do.    HELP!  My head is spinning with all these butter London releases.  I remember when they would put out 3 polishes every 6 months.  But this is crazy.  There is the fall line.  Xmas, Special for Macy, Dillards, Nordstrom's, and Bloomingdales and then there are the ones that are online only like fishwife was supposed to be.  Thank God UPS and FED EX comes during the day.  My husband’s cool.  He just laughs.  Sometimes we are laying in bed and he says what are you thinking about.  And I tell him I don’t know whether to order the Deborah Lippmann or butter London.  He asks if I am really am really thinking about that and you know I am.    He looks at me with this look of like I don’t get it.  I just say it’s like when we eat at I HOP and you don’t know whether to get bacon or an omelet with ham.  OH,  I understand.

Patty's Tips on Staying Looking and Feeling Young

I am 48.  Nobody believes me until I show them my driver's license but I do know women who are younger than me and look like they could be my much older sister even mother.  So, I was thinking what is it?  Well I think the first thing is good genes my parents both look really young for their age so did my grandparents that is something I have no control over but there are some things I do have control of and here they are.
1.  Think young.  Keep up with what is doing on with your kids and grand kids.  During a nail challenge someone did Gangham Style and I was like, I don't know what that is.  So, I asked my niece and she told me.   The next week I saw it on dancing with the stars and sometimes I find my self singing that stupid song while I am walking around my apartment and actually doing some moves. 
2.  Dancing is great for the spirit.  I do my own type of Zumba.  I used to love to dance when we went out.  So, sometimes I put on some good salsa music and just dance.  It is good exercise and I think it has played a part in me losing a little weight. 
3.  Dress in what is in style as closely as you can you do need to stop shopping in the junior department.  Jeggings are really popular and I got a pair I might need to wear some spanx but that is ok.  They don't look like I am trying to look young because I am not going to pair it with something that is not going to cover my ample bum.  Funny little story 8 years ago, I was still able to wear a bikini.  my daughter was 14 and dying to get her navel pierced.  I said ok after she was done I hopped on the table and had mine done.  I promised  my husband I would take it out after a year but I still have it and I feel like my stomach looks naked without it.  I thought when my gall bladder got taken out that would be it, but the piercing was still in tact.  So I still have it.  The guy who pierced us said that he had women who were in their 60's getting pierced.  So I figured it was ok. 
4.  This is a dead giveaway fro age.  If you still have your own teeth make sure you use a whitening tooth paste once they start turning really yellow people know how old you are.   If you wear dentures like I do due to  a 14 make sure you clean with something like efferdent.
5.  Stop wearing wearing powder on your face.  This I got from Diane Sawyer several years ago.  She said she stopped wearing powder when she hit 40 because it seemed to show wrinkles.  When Lush came out with their cosmetic line I bought some powder and it looked terrible.   I had stopped wearing it about two years before,  I just use MAC's blotting powder if I feel I need it but I use oil control makeup so I really don't have a problem. 
6.  Watch your hair length.  My hair was way too long for my age and when I cut it I felt 10 years younger.  Color is also an issue.  Stop using ash if you do.  I makes you look like you are trying to look younger.  A golden color is better.  I used to use Medium Ash Brown and when I changed it was such as difference. This I read on Yahoo as far as the color goes.  If you are grey or mostly and do want to look younger, color your hair.  I had a friend who was two years older than me and all gray we got and forced her to color her hair and it was amazing how it changed her.  She was wearing mumu's and after the hair coloring she was wearing jeans and pretty flats and she looked so pretty.  I've been gone for over ten years and went to visit her and her hair was grey and she still looked pretty but was wearing a Mumu.  No.  No Mumu's not even to sleep which leads me to the next topic.
7.  Ok, this is PG.  Your vagina still works at 48.  Having sex at when you are older is fine unless for some medical reason you can't.  But why would you want to slow down or stop completely. If you are reading this and your parents are in their 50's and still look like they like each other they are having sex even your grandparents.  I know I don't like to think about it, but when we get older we still like sex.  Sometimes my husband is getting fresh and I try to back off and then I think to myself why am I backing off from something that usually ends up feeling pretty good.  Sex is good exercise and think of how you feel afterwards feels great.  You laugh, you cuddle, you just form closer bonds with a person.  So have sex keeps you young. 

So, those are some tips.  They have have worked for me.  Maybe they will work for you.

Polish of Day 34 Aurora Angora by Barielle

Today, I have Aurora Angora by Barielle.  It reminds me a lot of Butter London’s Bumster.  Brielle nail polish went on smooth and creamy.  It dried really fast and the color is a definite warm winter color.  I’ve worn it once with brown and it looked nice better than wearing brown and looking too monochromatic.  It doesn’t have a shimmer but is a beautiful crème.















So, what do you think of this color?  Lots of people don’t like it but sometimes you need to give colors a chance.

Zoya Suedes

I have been able to snag three Zoya suedes.  I believe there are two more that go with this winter collection and 3 of a summer.  I have none of those but I think I have three of the best.

The first one is Loredana.  It is a dark gray.  The thing about the Zoya suedes that make them a little different than the rest is that they have a slight shimmer even when they are dry.

 

This  is Savita.  It is a a purple suede.  The first picture was taken with too much light and flash so this is what it would look like in the sunlight.  The other two where taken under natural light.

 

 

 

 

 

This one is my favorite it is called Veruschuka.  It is a dark green and goes on so smoothly.   I love this one and if you want to wear it with a top coat it looks just as beautiful. 

 

 

I love suedes and buy whatever I can find in winter.  I wish the main companies, like Zoya, OPI or China Glaze was putting something out this year.  I think the reason they haven't, is that when they first came out you couldn't give them away.  They were not widely accepted and I remember seeing them on sale racks.  If they would have given it a little more time maybe they would have caught on.  I am happy I have what I have but what happens when they are gone.  If I see one at a good deal I buy. I never pass up a good deal and neither should you if you keep a savings account which everyone should.  I just found the Black Zoya suede and I think the price will go down so I am just sitting on it.  When it reaches the price I want it at I'll buy.  If it goes up tomorrow at least I am locked in at today's price.

 

By the way there is this new website called Goop.  I just got it in my email and they have a 3 beautiful butter Londons on sale.  I got Fish Wife today I am wearing it and will try post it tomorrow hopefully.  I did let everyone on facebook and twitter that amazon had 8 of them.  I know I have said I would post things and I am sorry I have not been able to I have everything ready but there are some serious family problems right now and I went to the doctor they called me today to tell me that after some blood tests they want me to get a brain MRI.  That threw me for a loop and I have been preoccupied and instead os sitting around sleeping today.  (I am super tired right now and I am falling asleep)  I found myself at Macys and spent 4 hours there.  I took pictures of everything I bought so I can do a haul post on that.  I just had to get out of my apartmennt and believe that it is jusst routine to get a brain MRI. I haven't told my husband about the MRI and hopefully won't have to.  He is pretty preoccupied with his daughter who is having a crisis and has asked me to play counselor, a role I have always played in my family, it feels good to know I still got it  but it has really drained me for some reason and I am so sleepy at 10:30.  So, I am going to go to sleep and have a better day tomorrow because I believe I will.  If I get negative then it will be a bad day.  I know I will be in the polish room tomorrow since my neices are finallly coming over to play with all the stuff in there.  So, I will have guest models tomorrow. 

About the suedes remember Avon has them, if you want the higher end ones.  Try amazon and ebay and if you find Harlow let me know.  I'v been looking for that one.  Nubar also has a line of suedes. Everyone knows a bottle of Zoya is around $8.00 so expect to pay a little more with shipping and handling.

Polish of day 33 Ninja Polish Girly Floam

First there was floam now there is girly floam and I am loving it.  I think there is also sunny floam which I intend to purchase because I love floam.  I only have two pictures today because I used my new light box and discovered something about photographing in there and the colors were different on some of the pictures I took, so I only want to show the ones that are true to color and I was wondering why some where coming out different but it all has to do with distance and camera angle.  Live and learn, that is what I say.   This polish was so nice to put on because I did put undies on it.  Again I am finding with certain polishes they need undies. The formula I feel is great.  It dries fast but eats up  your top coat.  This is two coats but I kind of like it like this.   Well, I took a whole bunch of pictures.  I swatched my Zoya suede collection.  I have the Breaking Dawn 2  Collection from Essence and of course another polish to post.  Oh and two challenges.  So, tomorrow I have about five posts.  I would do some tonight but I am need to get up early tomorrow and I will be at the Breaking Dawn 2  premiere wearing of course the Breaking Dawn polish.  So, I want to get these posts done and if I stay up any later I won’t get anything done.  So, keep an eye on Facebook or twitter for the release of like five posts.

Polish of Day 32 Marrow Butter London

Today, I have a swatch of butter London's Marrow it is a creme purple. Smooth formula a quick drying. It is just a great color and if you don't have a good purple check this one out.

 

 

 

 

So, do you like this purple.  I totally love it and it one of my favorite purples.  I am loving butter London polishes who are coming out with some great wearable colors.  The price is high but worth it. Do you have any opinions on  butter London.

HELP!!! My Mani is messed up and I NEED my nails painted!!!!!!

OMG  I had the worse thing happen.  I was doing a mani and it looked like shit.  There was no way I was going out with them looking the way they did and no way I was going out without painted nails.  I just can’t I am going to my DBSA meeting and everyone always comes to see my mani.  I have no idea what to do then it comes to me.  I took off the old mani which by the way had Konad black polish on it cleaned my hands and ran for my OPI  We’ll Always Have Paris Suede.  I put it on it dries in minutes and I am good to go.  I was already dressed just doing my nails last.  It was a total life safer on coat and I was good to go.  I did do a post on my OPI suede's.  I am looking for OPI Lincoln Park After Dark Suede now more than ever but I thin I found an adequate dupe.  Avon is selling suede's in six colors for 3.49 a bottle.   I got this information from the queen of knowing everything that is coming or is out.   I hope she does not get mad I say it with great respect her blog is The Polish Jinx.  You want to know what is coming out go her site.  That is where I found out about the suede's so I ordered mine and got one wrong and ordered two more so I will have five in total.  I have not used them yet but the purple one looks just like Lincoln Park After Dark Suede.  Then as I was arranging the polish room I remembered I had other suede's.  Three Zoya Suede's and three Nubar ones.  I am good to go now.  So, I am driving to my meeting and thought shit I could have used crackle also.  So, don’t be so fast to get rid of those crackle polishes yet they could come in handy in a disastrous situation.   so, I made it past my crisis with the suede but would have used the crackle too if I had thought about it.  So here is what my nails looked like tonight.

With a layer of seche vite.

 

You can put a top coat on if you want the shine but why these look prettier just as suede's.   I will show swatches of my Zoya’s and Nubar’s sometime this week and I think my Avon ones are coming in tomorrow if not I will swatch what I have and compare them.  Nice safe I think.  What do you think?

Polish of Day 30 Essie’s Don’t Sweater it

This is one of the two colors I got from Essie’s Fall line.  It reminds me of  the ever popular Metro Chic from OPI for Sephora.  I wore that polish almost everyday for a month.  Until my daughter told me maybe I should change it.  I just really liked it.  I haven’t really worn this one yet.  I have a lot that I have not worn but I am getting there.  That is kind of why I am doing this is that sometimes I get polish leave it in the box get more polish and leave that in a box.  One of my best friends from back home is moving not far from here and will be staying with me for about a week or two so I don’t know how that is going to affect my posts.  I know I will still do polish of the day but the nail art that I love to do might be kind of thin.  I have several mani’s that I have worn and do have those saved so I will be able to show that.  Who knows I might get  a hand model for while.  We’ll see what happens.  The holidays are coming and to be honest it is the worst time of the year for me.  I hate it.  I just want to go in a closet cover myself up and sleep until it is over.  It is already starting so I know this year is going to be a lot of tears and a lot of hiding out but that is just a part of my life for the last twenty years when I converted.  So, I just ask that you all just stick with me because I love doing this blog so  much  if I didn’t do it I would be in therapy twice a week and not be able to work on my book.  So, if a post sounds a little down I might just be having a bad day if it sounds good that means I was in therapy that day.  I guess I am just going to try and not sweater it.










It is like taupe with a hint of purple in it.  It has no shimmer it is just a really pretty crème.  Very neutral but on the cool side so it is very appropriate for the winter months ahead.  CC

Polish of day 31 Essie’s Your Place or Mine

I really like these types of colors,  they grow on me and what I really like Is that I get two for one on this.  I wear it for a couple of days then stamp and wear it a couple more days.  I am no changing polish as much unless I am just doing a swatching day.  Right now my cuticle are raw so I am really glad I took these pictures otherwise you’d be looking at some nasty cuticles.  I’ve just been trying to get on a decent sleep schedule and sometimes I forget my lemony flutter with gloves.  So, now I am just going to sleep 1/2 an hour earlier so I can get my sleep under control.  A lot of people just don’t understand sleep apnea and it is just so bad sometimes it literally rules your life but it is getting better but any change in schedule an ruin all the work you’ve done.  So, your place or mine it looks prettier in person as most polishes do.  It is a corally pink.  It is darker than it photographed.

Polish of Day 29 Victoriana by Butter London

I chose this color because I really like the name I know it is Victoriana but I just think of Victoria.  I think it is a beautiful name.  Being Hispanic you have to be careful with what names you chose for your children especially girls.   Now this is just the way I think.  It comes a lot from my mother who chose to name me Patricia.  Everyone just calls me Patty for short but when I speak to people in Spanish or introduce myself to them I introduce myself as Patricia the name sounds good either way in English or Spanish and Victoria is one of those names.  My mom even named my sister something that sounds good in English and Spanish.  I had never thought about that.  I won't say what it is because I need to respect their privacy.  My baby sister got stuck with a really different name.  She has wondered why her sometimes but we can't do any thing our parent choose for us until we are adults and when you think of it as a parent there are a lot of things you control in your children's lives.  I tried to let my kids make certain decisions but I don't know they seem to be happy but my boys are not as successful as my daughter.  I just pounded it into her head she needed at least one college degree because she wasn't like her brothers who could go work in construction or just open a lawn service and make good money.  I told her those jobs were for men and yes women can do it but it is hard and dominated by men.  I am proud to say she will be graduating next year and will be pursuing her masters after that.  Neither one of my sons have done that and I do feel guilty for not pushing them as hard as I did my daughter but kids don't come with a manual.  My mom told me the only reason I should go to college was to find a man who was going to be a doctor or lawyer and marry him.  I thought to myself no, I want to BE a lawyer but never told her.  So,  I'll just say the name Victoria is really beautiful and holds a special place in my heart and that is all I am going to say.
I think I got this polish from Ulta and it was a little think so I did put some thinner in it.  I thought it was a glitter but it isn't.   It is a shimmer and I would even call it a neutral because it seems to go with anything.  I wore it for 2 1/2 whole days.  Yeah, and you know that thing about the clean cuticles.  Sometimes my cuticles feel ripped so I do what I did back in the day.  Take a long hot shower and scrub my head really good.  I have that Lush's Ro's Argan and when I put that on I rub it in my hands and viola clean cuticles without acetone or anything harsh.

So, I think the cuticles look pretty good except maybe the thumb.  So, I'll be doing that more often.

Polish of day. 28. Sweet Peacock

This is a polish I have been wanting for a while but then I would be drawn to something else .  I is going to be a good Chanukah  color.  I always wear blue or silver during that time.  This one is from Orly and I haven't been able to sing Orly's praises enough.  Great polish .  Great price and more for your money.

Polish of day 27 a-England NH-8

Today the blogging community is saying no to bullying.  I can't say that I have been bullied  because I know the person  leaving the remarks.  When I say know them I mean I know the profile better than she thinks and I will only leave a broad description because saying more might offend.  She is a young girl between the age of 18-25.  I know that by something she said.  She is still in school.  Good for her, I have strong beliefs that a woman NEEDS to have some type of degree.  She was bullied at one time in her life but overcame by possibly a school move or family move.  So, she had a fresh start and immediately acted out and started to bully and now it is just a part of who she is.  How do I know this, you don't spend 20 years of your life evaluating people, it does flow into your personal life.  I feel sorry for this person and if she gets a laugh out of something I may say.  I am just glad I could entertain her and she if feels that her comments hurt me, they don't because behind those comments is a little girl in pain.  

I almost feel this should be a day of compassion but some people really over do it and do hurt others. Some people get really hurt.  In the last year 2 children have killed themselves because of bullies.  That should never happen.  We do need to stand together and say no.  No more.
